YEAGER | TALES OF VESPERIA

Yeager is an arms dealer who spends his entire time in game being aggressively himself and siding with no one for very long. Almost everyone wants to punch him. Also he's got a Tragic Backstory and sometimes he donates his vast amounts of money to an orphanage! This doesn't make up for the fact that he's really fond of trying to instigate war.

Spoilers are definitely possible with Yeager, especially if you want to get into Tragic Backstory bullshit. This will definitely lead to spoilers! Most of the late plot spoilers can be avoided, thankfully.

Canon point: Any. Yeager doesn't really change at all throughout the story so canon point doesn't really matter!

ZAGI | TALES OF VESPERIA

An assassin with a massive obsession with the protagonist, Yuri Lowell, Zagi is uh... well. He's crazy and will stop at nothing to defeat Yuri. Because Yuri made him bleed and this was apparently a first. Zagi's... special. Also very fond of screaming "YURI LOWELL" at the top of his lungs.

I prefer playing Zagi from before his final appearance so hopefully spoilers won't be that big of a concern! If you'd like to avoid them I can easily do that, though Zagi would have to be taken from very early canon.

Canon point: Pre-final battle. Zagi's personality is altered by that point and I prefer playing him from earlier on. If you're not playing a castmate, it's best to have Zagi from very early canon, possibly even before his first appearance to avoid the YURI LOWELL obsession.

DEZEL | TALES OF ZESTIRIA

A Wind Seraphim who joins the party in order to get revenge for the death of his friend. Dezel hasn't been corrupted by malevolence thanks to his relationship with Rose, which really means he was using her for his own ends and she never knew it. Whoops???

Threading with Dezel can get into really spoilery territory, so let me know if you want to avoid that or if you're totally fine with spoilers! There is one minor spoiler (that is probably completely unsurprising) that can be a little difficult to avoid, so there's that to consider.

Canon point: Anything goes! Though as a head's up, I have not gotten past Lunarre's death in game, so I'd like to avoid spoilers beyond that. I'm down for any sort of threads with Dezel, so hit me up for whatever!

LUNARRE | TALES OF ZESTIRIA

Lunarre was once a human, but due to malevolence he's been corrupted and turned into a fox Hellion. He has access to cool magic and looks evil as hell now and also he eats people. So uh. That's a thing. He's also a member of an organization of assassins, though he spends most of his time being Obviously Evil. How has no one captured this man yet.

Spoilers are not as likely with Lunarre, surprisingly! Worldbuilding stuff might come up re: Hellions and malevolence, but this isn't super likely. Lunarre don't give a shit.

Canon point: Anything goes! Again, I haven't gotten past Lunarre's death. I'm also not threading out the eating people thing. Why is this a thing my characters do, oh my god.

PAPYRUS | UNDERTALE

The younger of the skeleton brothers, Papyrus wants to be a member of the Royal Guard. This might work better if he wasn't such a nice person. He's not cut out for guarding anyone. He's very fond of spaghetti, puzzles, and japes. Oh, and he's pretty dumb.

I can play Papyrus from any route, so there might be spoilers! Let me know what you want to do with that, I can avoid spoilers entirely if you'd prefer.

Canon point: Any, from any route. I'm particularly interested in playing with the Neutral ends though, since those could be really interesting.

UNDYNE | UNDERTALE

Undyne is the captain of the Royal Guard and a hardcore fishlady who might be the heroine, depending on what route you're playing. She's a massive dork underneath that tough exterior though, and she really needs you to confirm that anime is real.

Spoilers are very likely with Undyne since I'd prefer to play her from the No Mercy route. If you'd rather avoid that, I can play her from a different route!

Canon point: As stated above, I'd rather play her from No Mercy, but I can go with any of the other routes as well! Her solo Neutral end is also really interesting, so!

MAD DUMMY | UNDERTALE

A ghost who lives in a dummy who is very, very angry. All the time. About everything. Mad Dummy just wants to be corporeal, which they cannot achieve easily, which makes them even more angry. It's a never-ending cycle. They're also very fond of trying to beat up innocent kids for no real reason.

No spoilers with Mad Dummy, unless you're playing a castmate and want to go that way! Why am I playing this character, what has my life become.

Canon point: Uhhhhh. After their battle with the protag?? That's it, that's their only canon point. Why am I playing this character.

This works just like a call me out post - leave a comment with the name of the character you want to play with in the header! If you've got something in mind you can go ahead and set up the scene, otherwise we can work something out with the characters! It's probably easiest to do this on plurk before we begin though.

I'm fine with castmates or cross-canon; if you want to voicetest someone you can ask me who you think would work with them! In fact, if you aren't sure who would be good to thread with you can let me decide! But do you really want to trust me with that. Do you really.

As for scenarios... I am always here for AUs or canon-based scenarios! There's very little I'll turn down, actually, though I'm not here for smut so please don't ask. Shipping is fine though uh. Don't ship with Mad Dummy. Why would you do that. If you're running low on ideas I am always here for Holy Grail War AUs or murdergame AUs!!

[Guess who thought it would be fun to sneak into the Royal Guard's training fields just to watch the soldiers train? Wander did! And it totally won't backfire when someone finds him in the bushes.

...Gosh, they're all so cool. He's fighting a strong urge to jump out once this exercise is over and congratulate them on a good job.]

[It was already disorienting enough for Raven to wind up in a completely different place than Tarqaron, which he clearly remembers entering, but it was even worse to discover that the only familiar face was that of a dead man. A dead man who left the living world with a lot of mystery still surrounding him. Just before he died, Yeager revealed that he too was a pawn of Alexei, and it was quite a surprise to Raven. However, Yeager took the details to his grave, so Raven left it at that. What else could he do?

Well, Yeager's here, despite all odds. And doors once believed to be closed have reopened. As much as Raven was completely content to move on from Zaude and everything regarding Yeager—their relationship was always kind of awkward and strained, since long-before everything with the Don—a certain run-in with Yeager's daughters before heading for Tarqaron leaves him wondering if it might be worth it to actually have a conversation with the man. Why not see if he'll actually talk? It's not like they'd have this sort of opportunity otherwise.

And so, Raven finally stops uselessly mulling it over and acts. He slips a note under Yeager's door to meet up at the bar a little bit before lights out. Long enough to talk, but late enough where no one will really be bothering them.

Naturally, Raven will be there early to get in a drink before actually settling down into a conversation with a very complicated man. And as he sips that drink, he considers the fact that he might end up having to talk himself. Hoo boy, what is he getting himself into by doing this?]

[Waking up in an unfamiliar location when he was supposed to be in the middle of a battle hadn't been Yeager's idea of a good time. It had taken him a little while to settle from the... everything that came with having the one thing he had managed to (sort of) plan ripped from him after Alexei's everything, but here he was and that clearly wasn't going to change.

Maybe this would have been easier if Raven wasn't around.

Avoiding Raven is simply out of the question. Seeking him out is equally stupid. So Yeager has fallen back into his usual habits of acting like everything is perfectly fine and playing up the charm as much as he can given the situation.

But his luck never holds for very long, and he's not surprised to find the note beneath his door. Making his way to the library isn't difficult, and unsurprisingly, it's empty save for the man he's supposed to be meeting with.]

Guten abend, ah... Raven, is it?

[The cheery voice and smile are easy and the feigned ignorance is just as familiar to fall back on. Of course he recognizes Raven. They were in the middle of fighting, after all.]

What is it you wished to speak with me about?

[Raven can't help but inwardly chuckle. Playing it safe as always, Yeager. But it's not unlike something Raven himself would pull from time to time. This time, though... Well, it's a little bit different.

He smiles back, finishing the last of his pre-conversation drink and raising it with a nod of greeting.]

Yeager.

[Shortly after setting the glass down, he pats the other side of the table he's lounging at.]

Have a seat- then we can get straight ta the point. I figured it might be good for us ta be on the same page, if we're gonna be spendin' an extended amount of time here together.

[Yeager glances to the seat and back at Raven for a moment. The cheerful expression never fades, but he's quick to analyze the room and determine exactly how dangerous it might be. He shrugs and takes the offered seat though, resting one elbow on the arm of the chair as he folds his legs.]

"The same page"... Ja, that would be useful. Since we are the only ones here from our world it would be prudent to determine where we stand.

[While Yeager has a look around, Raven lazily leans back in his chair in wait. Though of course, at least one hand is rested on his lap, even though he doesn't have access to the knife that's usually on his belt.

Force of habit, really. Especially when dealing with someone he's on questionable terms with. And dead men. Y'know, them too.]

Glad ta hear you get it. I guess the best thing ta start with is...

[As tempting as it is to throw out the juiciest parts, he decides to keep it vague. It's definitely a bit blunt to blurt out, "DO YOU REMEMBER BEING DEAD AS A DOORNAIL?"]

What do you remember last? Before ya got here, I mean.

[...Well that's an odd question. Yeager tips his head a bit as he thinks, absently twirling that thick strand of hair between his fingers.]

I can only assume you're asking because something doesn't line up, ja?

[It's an oddly serious statement and he's no longer smiling.]

Zaude. We were in the middle of fighting.

[His left hand finds its way to his chest before he forces it to settle back on the armrest.]

Dare I ask what the last thing you remember is?

[Despite the blasé tone, Yeager doesn't look quite as amused anymore.]

[It takes a lot for Raven to not fully physically react to this. In fact, he can't keep his shock completely hidden, as his eyes widen ever so slightly and briefly, but it's there.

Not only is Yeager somehow alive despite his life energy fizzling out and Alexei also being dead, he doesn't even have memories of being killed. He's remembering one thing, but not the end result. Just what is going on here?

Yeager's given Raven a major advantage by revealing this information first before Raven having to reveal anything himself. Raven now has the choice of not having to tell the whole truth if he so chooses. He's just got a little inkling that trying to tell Yeager that he remembers something much more won't go over too well for a whole host of reasons.

Okay, he'll try this...]

The same. We were in the middle of fightin'- ya really decided ta go all out.

[When you're a zombie living via a Blastia, you can't go more all out than putting everything you've got into that dang thing.

Raven rubs at his chin, trying to look as thoughtful as possible.]

So that's what's got me wonderin'...how the hell did they get us? They didn't have an opportunity ta do anythin'! And just us? What do they want with some tired old guys like us?

[Speak for yourself, Raven...]

[It's a subdued reaction, but it is a reaction. Curious. Yeager's not sure why Raven would ask about what point in time he's from if he's telling the truth and they really are at the same point, but he won't press for now.]

I'm not certain why they would choose us over someone like Alexei.

[The words are dismissive as always, but there's something much colder than usual in Yeager's eyes.]

While I'm certainly an influential individual, I doubt my presence here will ultimately mean much, ja? Leviathan's Claw can only do so much. The Commandant of the Knights would surely be a better hostage.

[Raven is a member of Altosk, so perhaps the person responsible for their kidnapping just has it out for the guilds? No, that can't be right - the young boy they're traveling with is a guild member as well, isn't he? Hmm.

Yeager finally shrugs, trying to dismiss it.]

Well! I suppose we'll hear the demands from our captor soon enough!

[It's definitely odd, and Yeager has a really good point.]

That's my thinkin' too. But ya know, are we even hostages though? If they're usin' us as hostages ta draw Alexei out, well... Pretty sure Alexei'd have no problems leavin' us fer dead.

[It feels odd to talk about Alexei with Yeager all of the sudden. But knowing that Alexei got to Yeager too has changed Raven's perception of Yeager slightly. Yeager is literally the only other person who can understand the feeling of being used by Alexei to such an awful degree.

He rests his arms on the table, propping his head up with his hands. ENOUGH ABOUT ALEXEI, THOUGH...]

I guess it doesn't explain the rest of those guys either though, huh?

["Those guys" meaning everyone else who woke up here with no idea what the hell happened.]

Whoever this captor is, he sure must be after somethin' pretty specific.

[He raises a hand to his chest for a moment before shaking his head and dropping it. Yeager's grip on the armrest is tighter than it needs to be.]

Oh, I have no doubts that he'd leave us for dead. There are more important things at stake, ja?

[It's said with a smirk, but his expression is as far from pleased as it can possibly get.]

I'm certain there is something connecting the two of us, though there doesn't seem to be much we have in common with everyone else.

[He's been doing his research. He doesn't know Raven well enough to assume anything, but he's been able to rule out a lot of potential connections he has with anyone. It's frustrating.]

Still, just because nothing is immediately obvious doesn't mean there is nothing to be found. I imagine everything will become clear in time.

[He's going for light-hearted, but he doesn't quite make it there.]
