LOCKED TO
schlachtfeld
[Nothing had gone as planned in Liore. Kimbley had realized that things were going to go badly when he noticed that there weren't any people in the city, but he hadn't been able to properly warn Archer. In fact, he'd ended up fighting Scar and nearly getting killed - the Ishballan had managed to catch Kimbley in a particularly bad explosion, resulting in a severe amount of blood loss and what would be eventual scarring. He had made it out of Liore alive, but had ended up on the wrong side entirely. By the time he made it back to the proper entrance of the city, Archer had already sent the troops in.
Moments later an array had gone off, obliterating most of the soldiers in the area. Kimbley found out later that Archer was among them.
He doesn't remember much about the following month or so (he's not entirely sure how long it was, but his sense of time has been warped since he was thrown in prison). He spent that time recovering from his injuries and getting reacquainted with desk work within the military. It's dull and he loathes it, but it's something to do to pass the time.
After all, once he's off work he has something much more important to take care of.
The basement in Archer's house (which Kimbley continued living in despite not actually owning it) now contains a small laboratory, where Tucker spends most of his time. He's not permitted in Central Headquarters (for obvious reasons) so he resides here, taking care of the chimeras he's created and working on bringing Nina back. When he's not doing that, Tucker's looking after the Homunculus they worked together to bring into the world. Tucker got off luckier than Kimbley, missing only an arm (not his dominant one thankfully), while Kimbley is still getting used to his automail.
Like Edward Elric, he has an automail arm and leg, but unlike the Fullmetal Alchemist, it's taking him much longer to get accustomed to it.
Some people have asked him how he ended up losing an arm and a leg in Liore, but Kimbley always shrugs it off. Mustang seems suspicious, but there's no solid proof that he's done anything. As long as there's no proof, Kimbley's not in any danger of being arrested.
He comes home today, taking his time with the stairs as usual, and promptly flops onto the closest stool, spinning around a few times before coming to a stop and glancing toward the back of the room where the Homunculus usually stays.]
Hey, you up?
[It's later at night so he should be up, but Kimbley hasn't really talked to him much since he obtained his human form. It took months to get him to this point (and more red stones than Kimbley cares to count) but he's here now and he looks like Archer. Hopefully he's not too different from Kimbley's commanding officer. That would just make this entire thing awkward.
Not like it isn't already; Kimbley has always said that everyone is worthless, that everyone is bomb materials at the end of the day and it doesn't matter who lives or dies. Maybe he was wrong about that in regards to Archer, but even if he was, it's not the sort of thing he's going to admit freely.]
