You know how this goes by now, right? Pick one of the characters below and post a comment to start a thread with them! Some of these are being voicetested and others I've played for years, so speed may vary! There are also a few things to keep in mind about these characters:

★ Any post-game threads are fine! This includes murdergames!
★ AUs from said games are also fine! AUs in general are good too!
★ Not interested in smut!
★ If you don't know who you want to thread with you can let me decide! (But do you really want to do that??)
★ Hit me up on plurk if you don't know what you want to play!

★ Aranea: I can avoid spoilers with Aranea if you'd like!
★ Fire Emblems: (Gangrel, Nowi, Beruka, Charlotte, Shigure, Xander) I'm fine with playing pre-established relationships, but I can be a bit picky about these! Doing this for playing parent-child threads is totally cool and I can roll with almost anything there! For Shigure, I usually play him with (T)Subaki as his father.
★ Berserias: (Eizen, Magilou, Shigure) Threads with these characters may involve spoilers! I can avoid them with Eizen and Magilou, so let me know if you want me to do that! Shigure is almost guaranteed to have some spoilers, however.
★ Dezel: I'm not interested in playing any romantic Dezel/Rose, but I don't mind playing with Rose otherwise!
★ Lunarre: I'm playing him from the anime because I hate myself, I guess.
★ Rossiu: I can play Rossiu from either arc, just let me know which you'd prefer!
★ Naki: I can play Naki from either series, just let me know which you'd prefer! His RE account doesn't have very nice icons though, I'm sorry.

...There's my darling retainer.

[Camilla should have expected that they would have dutifully followed her, even when she snuck off. That's something she appreciated about them, really. Their loyalty was beautiful and absolute, much like their strength. Her words sound so distant, though, as if her mind is miles away from the situation at hand.

As if she hadn't gone and slaughtered a meager army. She doesn't turn to look at Beruka for a little bit, but her smile seems pleasant enough. And that's probably the scariest part.]

Did you two find my dear Corrin? Is Selena dragging her back by her adorable little ears as we speak?

[It makes perfect sense why Camilla would start this crusade if her objective was to find Corrin. Unfortunately, that doesn't change the outcome any and Beruka shakes her head. She's never been one to shy away from reporting bad news.

(That might actually be why Selena didn't show up to report, actually.)]

No, we did not. There was no sign of Corrin here.

[It would make most sense to keep Corrin secure in the Hoshidan capital, but Corrin doesn't usually make sense in Beruka's opinion. Why would Corrin side with Hoshido in the first place? There's probably much more to the story than Beruka has been told and it isn't her place to question Corrin's motivations in the first place, but she can't help but wonder. After all, Corrin's betrayal has hurt Lady Camilla deeply.]

[...ah. Of course they didn't. Corrin's with her new family in Hoshido. With a new big sister who's likely stroking her hair, singing her lullabies, hugging her close, and making her favorite foods. Replacing her with every second.

Or maybe that redheaded brat wasn't, and Corrin was sitting there in neglect...Camilla's not sure which is worse.]

...Of course she wasn't. They're keeping Corrin away from me. I won't be able to see her again, unless I...

[Camilla shudders at her own thought. It's definitely unfair to her retainers to expect something like this of them, but Camilla wants her darling back. Her axe is close, and she grips the handle again.]

If that's all of them, we shouldn't stay here. We have to report back to Father.

[She wonders if he's angry. He likely will be, won't he.]

[Beruka stands in silence for a moment, watching Lady Camilla's grip tighten on her axe. It's obvious that Lady Camilla is hurt by Corrin's betrayal, but this isn't the sort of thing Beruka knows how to deal with. She can fight and she can kill, but emotions are something she's never going to fully understand. How do you heal someone that doesn't have any physical injuries?]

Lady Camilla...

[She starts stiffly, but after a moment she shakes her head. It isn't her place to remind her mistress of such a silly thing.]

Never mind. We will return once you're ready.

[...there's a bit of a pause, before Camilla's expression shifts back into a vacant smile. She's slaughtered those who tries to take back the fort. She's been successful in one regard. She just has to continue with that. Soon they'll all die, and soon she'll have Corrin back in her arms. Maybe she can steal Corrin and run away. To a place where no one could reach them, and where she'd never leave Camilla's sight again.

She's still got some cuts on herself and her darling wyvern to take care of, and if the area is secure...well, there's no harm in taking pride in her work for a little while longer. Camilla lets go of her axe and gestures Beruka over next to her.]

Come sit with me, Beruka. You must be so tired after surveying the area, and there are still a few wounds on Marzia I have not patched up.

Would you like me to take care of Marzia?

[She's approaching already though, because as far as Beruka's concerned, that was an order. She stops beside the wyvern, looking up at her in acknowledgement before gently (and awkwardly) patting her side where she won't agitate any injuries. Beruka likes wyverns, as much as she likes anything, anyway.]

I am not tired though, milady. A battle like this is nothing to me. I will always do everything in my power to ensure your safety.

You have always have been a hardy girl. That's why you're my darling retainer...and we would both appreciate your help.

[It's not entirely, and they both know that. It's simply a good aspect of her that Camilla wanted to remind her of.

Marzia doesn't mind, though--she sniffs at Beruka when she feels her come up, but she allows the contact readily. She's fairly worn out, and it looks like she took quite a few sword and shuriken wounds. Nasty little things, but nothing that'll require drastic measures.]

There shouldn't be anything debilitating...they sent a rather sorry bunch to reclaim their fort. Now they're nothing more than bloodstains that will need washing. Just as they should be!

[If there's one thing she can look forward to, it's that much.]

Of course, Lady Camilla.

[They really were dispatched effectively, though Lady Camilla's become more erratic in her battle movements than usual. Selena and Beruka will just have to compensate for that as best they can. Considering that this is about Corrin, that makes sense. She'll let Selena know and... probably get yelled at for not doing anything more to help with Lady Camilla's feelings, but that's just how things go between them.]

I'll get to work right away. Selena is on guard duty, so you have nothing to worry about.

[Beruka's already got a bag with her full of salves and ointments; she has to patch up her wyvern as well. Selena's lucky she got out of there uninjured, but Beruka's main concern had been her liege. Camilla seems to be fine though, so Beruka sets to work on Marzia's injuries. She's very careful with what she's doing and she checks the wyvern repeatedly to make sure Marzia won't lash out and hurt her. She's had a few bad run-ins with her own wyvern over the years, so she's learned how to handle them better than she can handle people.]

[There isn't much that can be done, short of turning back time and trying to be an even better sister to Corrin. Maybe that would have made her stay with them. If they hadn't been so careless, maybe--]

...I trust you, Beruka.

[Camilla keeps a watch as well, as she sees Beruka go to work. Marzia, to her credit, won't snap too much--if Beruka hits a particularly bad spot, she'll growl a bit to let her know, but otherwise she keeps herself calm. Which is good for Camilla. This'll allow her to focus a little more on her other injuries, making sure that they close up and are disinfected. When they get back, she has no doubt some of the castle maids will be on them and making sure they're healed.

Looking back over the field of corpses, Camilla speaks absently.]

Do you still trust me?

[Beruka doesn't look up from her work, but she does absently pet Marzia a bit to try to calm her whenever she growls. Surely the wyvern knows that it will be just fine, it'll only sting for a bit.

But when Lady Camilla asks that question she does turn to her, staring.]

...Lady Camilla?

[It's a prompt, waiting for her to elaborate on the question. As far as Beruka's concerned, her answer goes without saying.]

[It probably should, but...Camilla seems frustrated when she answers.]

Do you still trust me, Beruka? Above all others?

[She knows Corrin did. At least...she hopes she did? What if she didn't trust her, after all of this time? What did she do wrong? It's not likely to be the elaboration that Beruka needs, but...]

[It's strange that Lady Camilla needs an answer, but it's best to give her one. Beruka nods once, stiffly.]

Of course I do, milady. I trust you more than I trust anyone else.

[Perhaps even more than her fellow retainer, though obviously some amount of trust is required there.]

Why do you ask? Have I not made my devotion clear to you?

[It's uh. pretty obvious that Beruka has no idea how the conversation got to this point.]

That's all I need to know.

[That seems to placate Camilla, at least, and her expression is back to...well, not normalcy, but it's back to the placid expression she held prior.]

I won't lose you. I already need to cut down all of Hoshido if I want to see my precious Corrin again, after all...I had to know if there were contractors to take care of as well.

[She remembers how they met after all. To think, if she hadn't hired Beruka...just where would they be standing now? Who even knows? But she knows she would be without someone precious and dear to her.

Camilla won't lose anyone else.]

[Beruka stills for a moment, her muscles going rigid even while her face betrays nothing. She then quickly turns back to Camilla's wyvern to continue her work. It takes her a moment to find the words she needs.]

...Lady Camilla, I will not betray you. I understand your concern, but you do not need to worry. I can find no reason to even consider turning on you.

[Her motions are just as stiff as her words, but she's still careful not to hurt the wyvern.]

[There's a bit of a pause before Camilla answers--whether it's the words catching up to her vacant mind or something else is a mystery, but she'll turn to watch Beruka work on Marzia before she speaks up.]

I just don't know where I went wrong. I was a good big sister, wasn't I? I loved and supported Corrin's every endeavor, and she knows I would kill every pesky intruder if it meant letting her be happy and safe. I would give her anything...why would she choose those them? What do they offer her that I can't?

[It's been frustrating her for a while now. But...something hits her, and she speaks more to Beruka.]

You wouldn't lie to me. I thought I might understand her reasons if I asked you.

[Oh, that actually does explain it. Beruka tips her head a bit and pauses her work to glance back over at Lady Camilla.]

I'm afraid I don't know why Corrin acted the way she did. If I could find out, I would. I wish I could help you, Lady Camilla.

[But her strengths are in killing. Assassinations, fighting... that sort of thing. Even if she's good at keeping to the shadows, she's not good enough at information-gathering to figure that out and return to Lady Camilla with the reasons behind Corrin's betrayal. It's frustrating being this useless to her liege.]

...Then we'll just have to kill every single Hoshidan until I can ask her myself.

[Camilla gets up at this point--mostly to stretch her legs a little before she looks back down at Beruka. Marzia's head turns in her direction while she does so.]

When we see them again, Beruka...cut them all to pieces. I don't care who they are to their kingdom. They took my darling from me and destroyed our happy family...they don't deserve to live.

But...leave Corrin to me. Is that clear?

[She can afford to run away if she can find an opening to do it. She's not the one who has to bear the weight of the crown. She can take Corrin and her retainers and fly as far as the winds will guide them.]

Understood. I will not harm a hair on Corrin's head.

[That's for Lady Camilla to decide. Should she want to drag Corrin kicking and screaming back to Nohr then Beruka will provide the restraints. Should she decide to kill Corrin for her betrayal, Beruka will be her support. That's what she's good at. She can follow orders better than she can heal emotional wounds.

It doesn't take much longer to finish patching up Marzia's wounds and Beruka pats the wyvern in a way that might be affectionate were it coming from anyone else. She steps back after putting her things back in the bag.]

All done. We'll be ready to leave whenever you'd like, Lady Camilla.

Good girl.

[...it'd probably be patronizing from anyone else. And it likely still does, considering how Camilla tends to be. But she means that with all of the affection in the world. Camilla walks right to Marzia and pets her gently while softly giving her praises. She did promise her wyvern something nice for all of this, after all.]

Go retrieve Selena from her position. We're done here, unless those pesky Hoshidans haven't learned their lesson. I imagine you darlings are going to be out like a light when we get home!

Right away, milady.

[She dips her head in a bow again before heading off to locate her fellow retainer. Selena's all too happy to be getting back home and as usual, Beruka makes room on her wyvern so the other retainer can sit with her.]

We're ready to go whenever you are.

[Beruka's wyvern has already been patched up as well, so they won't have to waste any more time here. Lady Camilla's going to have to report to King Garon about this and surely a blow like this won't be ignored by the Hoshidans. Maybe Lady Camilla really will get a chance to take Corrin back soon.]
