[Okay. So. Maybe Felix had made a mistake.

Maybe.

It wasn't like he planned to run off on his own during battle and get lost in the woods, and it wasn't like he dragged Linhardt after him. Ideally, he'd be lost in the woods on his own and then he'd find some excuse to blame the boar for all of this as soon as the professor or someone else found him. But unfortunately, he's not alone, and they're not any closer to finding their way back to civilization.

He hops down from the tree he was just in, landing easily on the ground. Even from up there he couldn't catch sight of anyone or anything. Just trees, trees, and more trees, as far as the eye can see.]

Nothing. I couldn't see anything up there.

[He's irritated, at himself, at Linhardt, at the stupid bandits for running out this far before he could track them down.

He looks over at Linhardt, expression already even more sour than it usually is.]

You got any bright ideas?

[Linhardt's a mage, he knows that much. He also knows Linhardt's from the Black Eagles. So maybe with any luck, one of them will find them before his own house does. Or maybe they'll be left out here all night, that really wouldn't surprise him either.]

[This. This is what he gets for not paying attention to where he was going and allowing himself to become so lost in a daze.

At first finding another student felt like a relief. Until he realized how unpleasant Felix was, at which point he decided to be unpleasant in return. Nobody is going to have a good time tonight.]

I knew that was a pointless idea.

[He shakes his head with a sigh. No, he doesn't have any ideas except waiting to be found. If they walk away too far, that'll only make locating them that much more difficult.]

We wait. Undoubtedly our classmates are searching for us as we speak.

You're joking.

[He doesn't think Linhardt is.]

We're not going to wait, that's a stupid idea. They'll find us faster if we keep moving.

[...that is absolutely not how this works, but what did you expect out of Felix. He's already moving to push some bushes aside so he can keep marching through the undergrowth.]

[Woah, wait, is he just moving on ahead? Regardless of his thoughts on the matter, Linhardt doesn't believe splitting up is a good idea. He'd rather not be lost alone, so he scrambles after Felix.]

-don't be an idiot. Don't you know anything? We could be moving farther away instead of closer.

[Empty-headed soldiers are the worst. And yet, that's the majority of people here, isn't it? Well, maybe not, but still. It seems the Blue Lions aren't the brightest bunch.]

So? Moving at all is better than just... sitting around.

[He pauses, frowns, and then turns back to Linhardt.]

You just want an excuse to nap, is that it?

[That's pretty much all he knows about Linhardt, the guy likes to nap. So clearly that's what this is?? Definitely.]

It's not better. Aren't you listening?

[An excuse to nap? Hardly!

...If he was with a friend maybe he would want to, but he doesn't trust Felix not to leave him behind. So no, no napping. Even if he is getting really quite tired.]

Nap in the middle of the woods? No.

[Again, not under these circumstances.]

Are all the Blue Lions this bullheaded?

Don't lump me in with them.

[It's not really harsh though, just mildly annoyed. It's not like he hates his classmates (with one notable exception), he just doesn't like being compared to them.]

Keep up if you're coming.

[That doesn't really explain anything, but that's Felix for you. He's fine with Linhardt coming along or staying put, either way doesn't really matter to him.

Anyway, he'll push his way through the bushes and come to a clearing. There are a couple of bandit corpses here and Felix heads over to check them out.]

But you are one of them.

[Does he hate his housemates, then? Felix doesn't seem like a very happy person, so the concept wouldn't surprise him.

Linhardt doesn't have the best relationships with his own housemates either.]

You could slow down a bit.

[At least Felix's movements cut a path for him. When they come across corpses, however, Linhardt turns away, paler than usual. He just hates the sight of blood and dead bodies... no way is he moving closer to them.]

[He stands up after a moment, returning to frown at Linhardt.]

One of them was killed by magic, the other was killed by the boar.

[...Dimitri, he means. He just sort of expects everyone to know who he's talking about, it's fine.]

Looks like they headed this way.

[There are some footprints and it looks like Felix is going to follow them. He'd really prefer not to run into the boar, but anything would be better than being lost. Not that he'll ever admit that, of course.]

[He doesn't know who 'the boar' is, but he can only assume them to be one of Felix's classmates. So... they're closer to the Blue Lions than the Black Eagles.

Somehow, Linhardt is actually relieved to realize that. Dimitri and Dedue are much kinder than Edelgard and Hubert, after all.]

A lead. Finally.

[He steps after Felix, carefully keeping his eyes averted from the bloody corpses as he goes.]

Hopefully we'll come across some of the others before sunset.

[He's noticed Linhardt's aversion to the corpses, but he doesn't say anything about it. Annette and Mercedes and Ashe don't like to see bodies either and he wouldn't be a jerk about that to them. So whatever, he'll just ignore it.]

We should. I doubt they got far.

[He has nothing to support that idea, but he can at least follow the footprints.]

[It's a relief once they pass the death scene. But the footprints... they don't look very recent. For all they know, Felix's classmates could already be on their way back to the monastery.]

I wouldn't be so sure.

[Still... it seems moving was the right decision after all. Even though he's getting... so tired. Linhardt can't help but yawn quite frequently by this point.]

[He lets the first yawn pass without comment. The second gets him to glance back over his shoulder. The third is the one where he finally whirls around, one hand on his hip.]

Are you really that tired? How.

[...that last one doesn't even sound like a question...]

[Now that's a question Linhardt is used to hearing. No one seems to understand his tiredness, and honestly he can't quite explain it fully either, but at least he knows how to deflect questions.]

Yes, I am. And that's none of your business.

[Although it might become Felix's business if he simply can't continue on. Hopefully they find someone before that happens.]

[He stares at Linhardt like he's trying to work out if that's something he should pursue or not. Eventually he shrugs.]

Fine, whatever. But I'm leaving you here if you pass out.
