VOICETESTING

You know what time it is, time to help me out with voicetesting some more weirdoes! Wahoo!! This time it's another original character edition. Turns out I actually have a lot of them I want to voicetest, who knew. Click on the icons to see info about these characters!

As always, murdergame settings are my beloved and I will gladly play in them, but we can do anything! Assumed cr is also totally fine if you want to skip over introductions and get into something else! I would prefer to avoid AUs right now since I'm voicetesting, but pretty much anything else goes! For inspiration, here are some memes: texting, stargazing, rain, random scenario, train to the afterlife.

I would like to play with powers on for the time being, which means that Yzros is not available for the train to the afterlife meme (gods are immortal). I will also be writing up some starters to be slapped into the comment below! (They're probably going to be murdergame-based, sorry.) If you'd like me to set up a custom one for you, let me know!

ALTAIR

A pirate captain who lost his crew to mutiny and is trying to rebuild, he's currently lost at sea and adrift without his usual magic. As a spellsong, Altair doesn't need to cast using the traditional methods, instead able to use his voice alone... shame a siren cursed him to turn his songs into a siren's call.

Now searching for a way to undo the curse while running out of time to get back to the safety of their home shores, Altair and his crew are in dire straits... quite literally, as the treacherous waters they're in are known as the Dire Straits.

Upbeat and energetic, flirtatious and outgoing, Altair is easy to get along with and chat to, but has a ferocious temper beneath that laidback demeanor. He prefers to avoid trouble and tries to keep his temper in check... to only occasional success.

ANASTASIA ÉVE RAELLE

Only daughter of the noble Raelle family, she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and yet still somehow manages to be the most difficult woman to put up with. She's currently fiercely devoted to trying to live a totally average and normal life away from all the stress of being a noblewoman; she just wants to take her money and run, and is trying to make that a reality.

The truth is that there's more to her than meets the eye... but what exactly is she hiding? Some of her words and phrases seem to be ridiculously modern in comparison to her more typical fantasy roots...

Anastasia is prone to wearing her heart on her sleeve and her bizarre expressions on her face. She sees no reason to censor herself or tone down her off-putting personality, as she's never needed to before. She can get away with damn near anything, being a noblewoman, and she will make use of that for all she's worth.

LLYR OF THE KINGSBLOOD

King of the fae and damn proud of it, Llyr has never once set foot outside of their realm to see the rest of the world. Why would they? There are humans out there! Humans and fae have always been at odds, and with the threat of war looming on the horizon, Llyr's perfectly content to have things stay just as they are, without ever looking to an uncertain future.

The truth is that Llyr isn't really the one who was supposed to be King. Two of the Kingsblood were created this time, and the other fae was to become the King, only for them to agree with Llyr to have Llyr crowned instead. Knowing that they aren't the true King, Llyr has a massive chip on their shoulder about their status.

Flirtatious and curious, with a mean streak and a desire to just have a damn good time in life, Llyr wants things to stay exactly as they are. They love their life. Why would they ever want that to change? They need to make sure their friend stays silent about the truth...

MOBY (REN AZIROV)

A former nobleman in competition to take up the title of Lord of his territory, Ren abruptly abandoned his position, changed his name, and joined up with a guild for no explained reason. He left his beloved sister behind and didn't even give her an explanation. He still refuses to talk about his past or why he did any of this. But why care about that when you can live in the moment?

The truth is that Moby has ties to the Deity of Destiny, Yzros, who eternally resurrects Moby for their own amusement. Remembering his previous lives, he chose to forego his current one so as to avoid the pain of getting close to others and losing them again.

Jaded and apathetic, hidden behind a cheery facade, Moby is just going through the motions now. He sees no real point in trying to fight Yzros's control of his life, because how exactly are you supposed to fight a god? So he doesn't, and so his life will eventually end only for him to be reborn yet again.

TEÀRLACH AINSLEY

Exalt (monarch) of their country and well on their way to becoming a tyrant. Teàrlach couldn't care less about that, because what truly matters is that they're in control. Ruling Sceih Lor with an iron fist is the least of their worries. They have a dangerous situation on their hands with the neighboring country, after all; if they aren't careful, war might break out between the two powers and it's a war that Sceih Lor will likely not win.

Abused and treated poorly as a child, Teàrlach has taken to heart the message that if you can have power, you must seize it for yourself. They led a bloody conquest through the previous royal family to claim their place and killed their aunt-slash-advisor to ensure they wouldn't be used by anyone else.

Cold, calculating, and cautious, Teàrlach is both paranoid and desperate to have some manner of control because they never did while growing up. Desperate to keep their power, they'll do anything to ensure no one ever steps on them ever again.

YZROS, DEITY OF DESTINY

The Deity of Destiny is one of the gods of the world of Aelios. Yzros specifically governs the fates of mortals and delights in watching them struggle against overwhelming odds. They find mortals truly fascinating and absolutely adore them - but in the way one adores watching ants go about their duties, and burns them with a magnifying glass when they're bored enough.

Their current favorite is Moby, a mortal they have put through all sorts of harrowing situations, just to see how he reacts. Earning the eye of the Deity of Destiny is not a blessing at all, as they are not content to simply let one live without their interference.

Massively curious and inquisitive, they like learning and exploring the world around them, though they are stubborn and set in their ways and beliefs. They love a good story or a good show, but dislike it when they are proven wrong. Contradictory and petulant, Yzros will use their power as they see fit, regardless of who is hurt by it.

Llyr | Faeking It
Age: ??? | Occupation: King of the fae | Height/Weight: 5'0" (152cm) / 110lbs (50kg)
Likes: Revelry, control, power, those they can trust, idiots, having fun
Dislikes: Boredom, the truth, humans, doing work, fae court politics, Cerian

intro
Hmm~

[Perhaps that soft, melodic hum will draw your attention, or maybe the person standing in front of the framed profiles in this ornate castle murdergame setting will. After all, they're sporting a pair of wings which is pretty odd. Their short, slim figure is hovering just a bit off the ground, those wings occasionally flapping, though not nearly enough to keep them airborne. If you look closely, you'll see some blue and teal sparkles coming from said wings.

It also seems they've noticed you staring, and they look over with a pleasant smile on blue-painted lips.]

Hello there~! Why, are you a human?

[...No, it does not matter what you look like (as long as you are not obviously a fae). They will ask you this regardless. One would think that the King of the fae would perhaps have some kind of idea about what a human looks like, but alas.]

My, how charming. [They're just gonna talk over your answer, regardless of what it is or is not. Or if you even answer at all!] Do tell, where precisely are we? This certainly isn't my castle.

mastermind
[You know the drill by now. The mastermind (the Emperor) has introduced himself (despite their being no visible speakers anywhere, weird!) and laid out the rules of the game. The next time you look over to the profiles, you'll find another magically-enhanced glass case containing the rules, complete with everyone's favorite rule #7. You can escape only if you kill and get away with it, etc.

Plenty of people have questions for the Emperor and are getting all of that out there, but Llyr looks sort of at a loss. Unfortunately for you, who just so happen to be standing nearby, they turn to you to ask:]

What does that mean, exactly? About "killing" someone.

[...yeah. It's gonna be Like This.]

motive
[It has been a week. One solid week of (relative) peace, without anyone turning up dead. Some people are still expecting the worse, while others are optimistic. Llyr still acts like their usual blasé self, completely at ease despite the situation, even after the concept of death has been explained to them. After all, it both can't and won't happen to them, so who cares!

But today is different. They've all been called into the foyer, where a table waits with gilded envelopes bearing each of their (stupid) titles. A quick explanation - This is a secret you want to ensure remains a secret isn't it? You'd best remember rule seven, then. - and we're left on our own once again.

Llyr blinks and opens theirs. Their eyes narrow immediately on reading it.]

...Hm.

[This time it isn't melodic, but rather the sound of someone calculating their next move. Llyr places the note back into the envelope and looks around at the others - are you having a noticeable reaction to it? If you are, they'll watch curiously and not interfere until you're done yelling at the Emperor or what have you.

But if you aren't having a reaction...]

What do you think the point of all of this is? It would seem that he really wants someone to kill, but I can't begin to fathom why.

afterparty
[A murder occurred; a poor girl everyone seemed to like, Sayaka Maizono, was found stabbed in one of the public restrooms. A trial followed - she'd attempted to attack one questionable salesman and guild leader, Yeager, who defended himself but killed her in turn. He took the opportunity to try to take the motive, until fingers started pointing his way and he confessed. His execution was just as bloody as hers had been.

Llyr has remained surprisingly quiet through all of it. Usually they can't seem to shut up even when people want them to (perhaps especially when people want them to), but they watched the trial and execution with uncharacteristic stillness. "Death" is not a concept the fae have. All of this is new to them. Bleeding is so incredibly rare among the fae to begin with, and yet...

Well, regardless, they receive a note about the afterparty from one of the hosts. They arrive in the dining hall in a confused shower of fae sparkles as they float in, head tipped to the side as they attempt to figure out what to make of this somber gathering.]

Is this not a meeting?

[They were expecting attempts to prevent further murders, or another opportunity to share information, as though anyone has found anything else when they've scoured the rooms available to them thoroughly.]

You there. [Yes, hi, that's you.] Tell me: what is the purpose of this gathering?

[just fae things.]

[If Evangeline had a nickel for every time she tried to explain the concept of killing to a non-human, she could afford a better job.]

Well, it's like... Do fae die, or cease to exist or any reason?
faek: (♕ 15)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Cease to exist...

[They hum as they think, inclining their head a bit. First to one side, then to the other as they raise a finger to their chin.]

Not exactly? Though if my assumption is correct, this may be something of a similar process to scattering?

[Which probably isn't something a human understands, since they understand this concept of "death".]

It's when a fae's essence - their magic - returns to the world. The fae in question certainly still exists and will reform, though will not be exactly the same as they were once.

[So yeah, it's magical fae death.]
abnormalizes: neutral (everybody sing)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, that's a good starting point. So death, for humans, is like if a fae were scattered and never reformed no matter how much time passed. They lose any kind of consciousness and are gone forever.

Does that make sense?

[Honestly, they're already doing better than most Abnormalities she's tried to explain 'humans stop being alive when you inflict grievous wounds on them' to.]
faek: (♕ 09)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
[me writing the lore like "I swear I am not going to make it THAT difficult for anyone to explain this concept, llyr's already Kind Of Dumb enough"]

I see! How terrifying... To think that there could be such a permanent, final act...

[They press their fingers to their mouth, eyes wide as they consider this. A fae who could never come back. Their magic scattered, gone forever...]

Though that does raise another very strange question, doesn't it? Why was I brought here? I will simply return to my world, should I scatter.

[my dude you have 0 proof of that,,,]
abnormalizes: negative (down to her feet)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
[...It would probably be kinder to let them believe they have nothing to worry about here, huh? That's probably what a nice person would do.]

If you're here, whoever's running this probably at least thinks they have a way to keep you from returning? I don't know if they're right or not, but they did manage to bring you here in the first place, so...

[But also Evangeline's pretty sure if they tell some human how terribly unlucky they are to be here while mortal, that that human is going to punch them in the face.]
faek: (♕ 07)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
[evangeline is the most valid person in this murdergame and also doesn't deserve to be putting up with fae bullshit.]

Well, that is true. Teleportation magics aren't unheard of, but no human can use such things... Though I suppose our captor could be a fae.

[It's not like Llyr has no enemies, after all. There are always those who would seek to scatter the King for whatever reason. But still, to go this far... They hum a bit as they consider, wings fluttering slightly as they tap a finger to their blue-painted lips.]

So I will have to ensure I am careful to avoid such a thing, just to be safe. I would rather not have my scattering be... permanent.
abnormalizes: neutral blush ((the girl's a super freak))

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Fae bullshit is honestly less bad than her regular job's bullshit so it's fine!!]

Do you think a fae would do this? I'm only familiar with a few at home, but they wouldn't usually go through all this trouble...

[There's easier ways to get dinner than setting up a murdergame.]
faek: (♕ 02)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
A set-up like this is so unnecessarily complicated and showy...

[...]

So yes, I could see one of mine doing such a thing.

[we fae are just Like This.]

Though admittedly, I'm not sure what the point would be in dragging me into such a thing. There are plenty of ways to scatter one of the Kingsblood, so it isn't as though such an elaborate plan would be necessary. I suppose it could simply be done for their amusement?

[sadism. we can't rule out sadism.]
abnormalizes: negative (down to her feet)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, unfortunately that could also easily be a motivation for a human.

[Sadism always a popular option!]

I don't think it's anyone from my world because if it was, there would be some obvious monetization aspect. Like selling other people tickets to watch us kill each other or something like that.

[Said fairly matter-of-factly.]
faek: (♕ 06)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Selling"...? Oh, you mean trading, but instead of favors you use coins! How cute.

["cute"...]

We fae don't have anything quite like that, so I have little to compare it to. Should we need another's assistance for something, we trade in favors, though most fae are fiercely independent. Are many humans reliant on this... "monetization aspect"?

[boy they have no idea.]
abnormalizes: negative (every time we meet)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
In my world? Everything revolves around it, to the point that plenty of humans kill each other for those coins.

[This is somehow harder to explain than the death thing.]
faek: (♕ 10)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 01:35 am (UTC)(link)

abnormalizes: negative (the kind of girl you wanna know)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
The only way to be safe in the City is to be rich. People with a lot of money live in safety and security, while people who don't have money struggle to get enough food to survive. You can pay money to modify your body to make yourself stronger and tougher, or you can pay other people to protect you.

[it sucks!]
faek: (♕ 08)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
I see! So humans do not have nearly the means to protect themselves... That would make sense, as they don't have magic.

[Hmm! How curious. Imagine requiring pretty little coins to get someone else to protect you. Couldn't be the fae.]

Do you have a lot of these coins?
abnormalizes: negative (down to her feet)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)

faek: (♕ 10)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[lmao.]

New fae come into being when enough magic has gathered into one place to form a new fae. Unless one is of the Kingsblood; we are created by the Kingmaker so our existence is a bit different.

We do not age or grow, though I am familiar with these concepts! Humans start out as tiny beings that then must learn and change to become bigger!

[They sound so proud. They learned one whole thing about humans before coming here. Incredible. Are you glad you don't have to explain this too?]
abnormalizes: neutral (when I get there she's got incense)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You knowing that much makes this easier. Okay, so, all humans are created by a pair of two adult humans, who then take responsibility for the tiny baby human they made. They're called 'parents' and they're responsible for keeping the new human alive and teaching them everything they need to survive and grow. Humans usually develop close emotional bonds between parents and children.

[...well, some people are assholes even to their own family... but they're supposed to be close, anyway.]
faek: (♕ 11)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-16 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I see! That explains things. I have heard that some humans have very close bonds with one another called "family", but the concept is something we fae don't truly have.

[All fae are backstabbing assholes, so you never really want to get too close to another to begin with.]

Fascinating... It seems there's simply so much to learn about humans!
abnormalizes: negative (down to her feet)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-16 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad at least one of us thinks they're interesting.

[She definitely isn't interested in humans, specific or in general.]

Do you have the concept of love, in general?
faek: (♕ 02)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-17 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[This is probably the equivalent of Llyr not finding the fae all that interesting because they are one, so it's totally normal!!]

Oh, yes we do. Though it is very rare for any of the fae to experience such a thing, as we usually don't go looking for it. Still, we have plenty of stories about love!

[Most fae think of it as a "hahaha what the fuck" sort of way because it gets in the way of their usual distrustful nature, but they are familiar with it at least!]
abnormalizes: neutral (everybody sing)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-17 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)

My parents... They're good people. Mom's a lot like me - outgoing, energetic, and a big nerd. We didn't have many books when I was growing up, so she'd come up with stories on the fly to tell me before bedtime.

Dad doesn't talk much, but he works hard to take care of people. Sometimes he'd hold two or even three jobs at a time, just so we had enough money to live a little more comfortably.

Even though we were poor and my world is a miserable place, I had a happy childhood thanks to them.
faek: (♕ 09)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-19 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
[How curious. It sounds completely different from anything Llyr is familiar with, but then, so much of what she's had to say is so vastly different from the fae!]

Tell me more of your world. Do you have fae there? Some people here have told me they aren't familiar with fae at all!

[Not surprising if the fae have been keeping to themselves, but the looks they get are kind of weird!]
abnormalizes: negative (down to her feet)

[personal profile] abnormalizes 2025-04-19 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
[She appreciates the change of topic, although this is a little awkward, because:]

So, we do have fae, but they tend to eat humans? I did definitely assume you would eat me if I ticked you off when we first met, sorry about that.
faek: (♕ 10)

[personal profile] faek 2025-04-20 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my, how fascinating... No, there is hardly any need to apologize, for you would have no way of knowing that other such fae could exist in other worlds. It is safest to assume what you already know, no?

[They sound delighted by this, actually?? Eating humans, how quaint!]

We have little need to consume anything, although we can if we so desire. Fae are beings of pure magic; we exist on the ambient magic that exists throughout the world.

[And in this one, apparently, unless they have been physically altered and they just haven't noticed yet. Which is totally a possibility.]

Altair | Siren Song
Age: 26 | Occupation: Pirate Captain | Height/Weight: 5'7" (170cm) / 150lbs (68kg)
Likes: The sea, treasure, freedom, those he can trust, magic, music
Dislikes: The past, mutiny, cowardice, sirens

profiles
[So. This sucks. Trapped in a stupidly ornate castle without any of his crew and the only indicator of their purpose here being some fucked up rules that have to be a joke? Yeah, not Altair's idea of a good time. He's currently studying the profiles when you approach, dark red eyes darting from you to the profiles and then back again.]

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that you're just as lost as everyone else seems to be. [No point in wasting time, may as well cut to the chase.] This information about you - is it accurate?

[He doesn't offer his own answer just yet, but it seems like he's going somewhere with this. Probably.]

motive
[It has been a week. One solid week of (relative) peace, without anyone turning up dead. Frankly, Altair was expecting someone to have snapped by now, but the Emperor has offered us a reason to kill.

Adhere to rule seven and you'll be rewarded with a chance to undo a mistake of your past.

The envelopes sitting on a golden platter are embossed with our names, all written very elegantly in red ink. Altair snatches his own, but doesn't open it. He doesn't need to; he already knows what will be inside.]

Who's going to buy into that? There's no kind of magic capable of rewriting the past. Besides, you'd end up with an entirely different future - you wouldn't even be the same person anymore, would you?

[...And wouldn't that be a blessing for some people?]

trial
[Sayaka Maizono, a young girl everyone seemed to like was killed and found dead in one of the public restrooms. Stabbed through the stomach, left to bleed out. Many of the others went about investigating, and now we're being forced to hold a "trial" to find the guilty party. The rules have been explained - it's the killer's survival or everyone else's.

...We've also been going at this for several hours, and Altair's obviously getting impatient. He's leaning on his podium, chin propped on his hand and frowning deeply.]

Okay, so we've established the knife might've been hers. So why haven't we checked for defensive injuries on anyone yet? Start with your arms. Roll up your sleeves and let me see. If this turns up nothing, we're taking off more next.

[strip! strip! strip!!]

[So. That happened. Eventually we did manage to catch the killer and he was executed, leading to a few of our number deciding to hold a gathering. A remembrance of those we lost, or maybe just a means to make sure everyone's getting something to eat.

Altair isn't really bothered by anything that happened. Sure, he liked Sayaka. He liked her killer too. But in a situation like this, why the hell would you assume that everyone would be fine? It's easier to assume that people will die, because we're being forced into it. So if he doesn't seem particularly bothered, that's why.

Though he makes a brief appearance at the gathering for dinner, he's quick to take his leave. Altair ends up in the library, picking through the books and looking for something to read, just to have something to do with himself.]

Oh, hey. That little party of theirs entirely too dismal for you?

[There's nothing mocking in the words despite his word choice, it's just a question.]

...Right.

[Sayuri shivers and looks away from the motive envelope. She gives a small, practised proper nod.]

Sayuri isn't even certain what the present would be if she went back that far. And nothing important enough would change.

[ In a shocking turn of events, Altair isn't the only one in the library. G'raha is too, having already pulled out a thick book from one of the shelves, sitting on the floor nearby with it open in his lap. He's flipped to somewhere in the middle, presumably to find some section that's interesting enough to take his mind off of the everything that has occurred in only a single day.

He does, at least, have a few snacks from the party on a plate sitting next to him.

Whatever he found must have been interesting enough to steal his attention or he's too lost in thought to notice Altair even as he looks through the books, because he doesn't look up until he's spoken too, looking up at him like he's been shaken out of some sort of reverie. ]

You may think me strange for this, but I thought the smell of old tomes may steady my heart more than a gathering could.

Anastasia Éve Raelle | Double Life
Age: 20 | Occupation: Noblewoman | Height/Weight: 5'7" (170cm) / 140lbs (63.5kg)
Likes: Wealth, dressing up, power, entertainment, romance stories
Dislikes: Losing, death, unpredictability, idiots, buses

intro
[The door next to yours is thrown open, hitting the opposite wall as a woman in all sorts of regal finery busts out of it. Did. Did she kick the door open?? Well, regardless, she's smoothing her skirts out and fixing her hair, and this would perhaps be somewhat normal(?) were it not for the fearsome scowl on her face. She does not look the picture of nobility no matter what her manner of dress says.]

Absolute bullshit, this isn't the damn manor; where the hell am I—

[That's about when she catches sight of you. Anastasia blinks owlishly for a moment, eyes incredibly wide before she quickly smooths her expression into something that's probably supposed to be a gentle smile. It just looks downright creepy, like she's considering murder.]

...Good afternoon. Is it afternoon? I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure. I don't have a window in my room, you see. May I ask where we are, exactly? I don't recognize this place.

[Her manner of speaking has slipped into something more formal and it seems like she's struggling to keep her voice even and calm despite the circumstances. So uh. Have fun?]

profiles
[Anastasia has found the rules, but more pressing are the profiles. She's currently biting one of her thumbnails as she studies her own, expression dark as she mutters to herself.]

How the hell do you know this? No one here should...? Fucking buses of all things...

[She looks up after a moment, finally realizing she's not alone.]

...Uh.

[Yeah. Nailed it.]

My apologies, I didn't see you there. Were you looking at this information? It is... interesting!

["Interesting" sure is a word choice. She says it like a curse despite the upbeat and cheery tone trying to make it sound like it isn't.]

afterparty
[Wow I can't believe Sayaka Maizono is dead again. Who could have seen this coming. Anyway, this time we didn't have a peace week, so we were just sort of thrown straight into hell and here we are now. Anastasia just so happened to stumble into the party planning crew over there when she was looking for a snack (murder trials make you hungry, okay) and now here she is delivering hand-written invitations to a gathering.

So you have received one (1) knock on your door! If you get it in a timely manner, you'll find yourself face-to-face with Anastasia, hand raised like she's considering knocking again.]

Oh. Hi. [She clears her throat as if to correct herself.] Some of the others and I have prepared food [she did not prepare food] in the dining hall, if you would like to join us. We believe it best to remember those we have lost today, and ensure everyone keeps their strength up.

Of course, this is not required. Please forgive me for taking up so much of your time.

[She dips into a proper curtsy... and promptly drops the other notes. With a quiet, hissed shit she moves to pick them up. She is not dainty about it, she just bends over and scoops them up.

You might have noticed they were written in an elegant script that sort of makes the words hard to read, but it's not like there's much to read.

Meet in the dining hall for food.

...She sure did put a lot of effort into this.]

regains
[Congratulations on your coin rolls! You have received one (1) modern day cellphone! This isn't the first time personal regains have dropped, so you might already be familiar with the idea that these unique items belong to other people, but even if you aren't, you won't be alone with it for long.

Anastasia enters the room with her own set of coins... which promptly scatter all over the ground when she drops them. Completely forgotten, she steps over them as she rushes over to you.]

H-Hey, that's...

[And then she catches herself. Though she still looks like she's seen a ghost, Anastasia clears her throat and tries again.]

What is that strange device? I've never seen anything quite like it before!

[...Well anyway, the phone is a soft pink, with a cute phone case depicting fluffy pink and purple clouds and stars. Very cutesy. It also has a lock screen, if you're feeling nosy and want to look, though you'd have to guess the password to get in.]

[At the very least, Anastasia's current audience isn't entirely put off by whatever that was. Gregor regards her with a raised eyebrow, but otherwise placid expression before shrugging.]

I'd call it unflattering, personally. Not exactly wrong, though.

[And since Anastasia is looking at him, I would be remiss to not point out the giant insect appendage replacing his right arm. He also has a toothpick between his teeth instead of a cigarette...for now. Maybe the overseer will be kind to him and give him some smokes later.]
