[It's been a little over ten years since the two of them arrived here. Ten years is an awfully long time to be stuck here, but returning home isn't an option anymore. It hasn't been an option since they first started changing, and that wasn't all that long after they arrived. Kimbley had grown a tail and ears and Archer's eyes had turned red. It's amazing to think they had been so scared by those changes back then.

Things are different now. They aren't human, but there's no reason for that to bother them. Archer is a vampire (something that he found painfully ironic in the beginning, but he's adapted quite well to it, if he does say so himself). Not much has changed about him, appearance-wise. His nails are much longer and sharper, his eyes are red, and he has the stereotypical vampire fangs, but aside from that the only difference is the slight point to his ears. It's not like he could get any paler anyway.

Archer enters their shared apartment after work, shrugging off his coat and hanging it up before proceeding into the living room.]

Kimbley, are you home yet?

No, I haven't. Calm down, Kimbley. We'll find him eventually.

[He knows this isn't easy for Kimbley, but he really doesn't want Kimbley to get shot again.]

[Thankfully, Kimbley doesn't want to get shot again either, but he's impatient.]

If I find him first...

We're going to be careful about this. It's possible he's no longer alone; we don't want to risk dying.

If he has more than one person with him, we're not going to have an easy time.

[That's frustrating. He doesn't exactly want to be shot.]

Exactly. I'm going to keep looking for information, but until I know his identity, we shouldn't do anything rash.

[Waiting is hard.]

The next time we meet him, he might have silver. I'd rather not make a move until you have some sort of plan.

Exactly. I'll come up with something, you can be certain of that.

[He believes it.]

What are we going to do until then? We can't just wait around.

We can hunt in safer areas, or better yet, find others to hunt with.

[viliorate]

[But that means working with someone who isn't Archer.]

Is there anyone here you trust with that?

[Kimbley definitely doesn't, but him trusting anyone who isn't himself doesn't happen very often as it is.]

...No, there isn't.

[It's unfortunate, but he supposes they could find some others who hunt in groups. Maybe.]

[That's what he'd been expecting.

He doesn't mind, but it does make things a touch more complicated.]

Me neither. I'm sure we can ask around. There are still people around who have been here as long as us.

Exactly. We'll figure something out.

[Relying on others makes him feel weak, but he doesn't want to do anything that will endanger either of them.]

It can't be that difficult to find other people. If they've been around as long as us, they're not going to be doing something stupid like trying to stop us.

I'm fine right now anyway.

I'm glad to hear that.

[It's easier for Archer to feed since he only needs blood and can control weak-willed humans, but he's more concerned about Kimbley.]

I'll see if I can find some others to hunt with.

[Kimbley will be fine for a while now.]

I'm sure you can bring me something if it comes to that.

[Years ago it would have been a horrifying topic of discussion, but he's gotten used to it.]

Of course. It wouldn't be a problem to bring someone here, though I'd hate to see what would happen to the floor.

[He'd be cleaning it for weeks to get the smell out! Ugh.]

[It's a little late for him to be still be constantly cleaning the damn house.]

I'd be careful.

[No he wouldn't.]

I know that. Hopefully we'll never have to rely on bringing meals back here.

It's not like I'm still injured, but I'd rather be careful for a little while.

[And Kimbley is self aware enough to not hunt solo.]

I know. We'll need to be careful to avoid running into the same problem again.

We're going to think of something.

[Of course by "we" he really means "Archer," but he's trying.]

Of course. Things are bad now, but we'll make it through this. We always do.

[He'll.... think of something. Maybe. Kimbley isn't exactly capable of coming up with good plans, considering he's still too impulsive for his own good.]

Maybe we should relocate to another part of the city. It shouldn't take that too long.

We'd have to move everything and find some place else to live... It would be expensive and time-consuming. I don't think anyone knows we're here. It should only be a last resort.
