LOCKED TO alchemicals

[He doesn't remember anything. All he knows is that there's a bright light in his face and he just wants to sleep. After a couple of minutes of tossing and turning he finally opens his eyes and sits up. The room he's in is perfectly white, without any sort of interesting features. There's a desk and a chair, but nothing on either of them. They're as white as the walls and floor, and on closer inspection, the bed he's in is just as white and spotless as the rest of the room. The sheets are a bit on the stiff side even though he's been sleeping under them, and the bed is kind of hard for his liking, so he finally squirms out from under the covers and stands.

The clothes he's wearing strike him as being wrong, though he can't recall what the "right" clothes would be. They're white - like everything else - and they're very simple. He doesn't have anything to compare them to, but the material is soft and kind of thin and feels a little odd. He shrugs off his confusion about the clothes and starts for the door. Even the doorknob is white, which strikes him as strange for about half a second before he yanks the door open.

The room that he enters is spacious. Like the room he woke up in, everything is white. There's a sofa, a small table in front of the sofa, and a couple of plush chairs. There's a couple of doors leading elsewhere, and his first order of business is to see where they lead. One leads to a perfectly white kitchen which isn't interesting right now (though some part of him wonders if the food will be just as white) and the other door he comes to is locked. There should be a front door around here somewhere though, right? He doesn't want to be here. He can't remember why he's here (or anything, really) but being here doesn't seem right.]

That's all I wanted to know, yeah. I mean, I'm not going to pry into it if you don't want to tell me, because I probably wouldn't know what to do with it anyway. If you want to, that's fine, but if not, then hey, that's fine too.

It's just good to keep track of what we know and what we don't, you know?

Yeah. If one of us starts getting our memories back, the other one might get 'em too, so it's better to be prepared for that shit.

You'll do the same, right? If you start getting memories back, even if they're fuckawful? I mean obviously you don't have to share 'em or anything. Just... y'know. Let me know that you're remembering shit.

[alchemicals]

[And for a moment he's tempted to deflect it, like he always does - to tell Naki that he'll say something if he thinks it's anything important - but he catches himself this time; he's been saying that a lot lately, and they've just been saying that they'll try not to do that, so...just give him a second.]

...Yeah. If I get anything back, I'll let you know, okay?

[deaftly]

[He's not really sure why there's hesitation there, but Kimbley's answer is enough to calm Naki down.]

Good. Good! Even if it's something really dumb or boring, okay? As long as it's a memory, it doesn't matter what it is. It's not like we can really be picky about that shit anyway.

[alchemicals]

Well, yeah. It'd be too convenient, otherwise.

[...]

If it turns out I was something really boring like a shopkeeper and the first thing I remember is not being paid enough to deal with someone's shit, I'm going to be really mad.

[deaftly]

[Naki laughs at that, tipping his head back until he finally manages to quiet himself.]

If you were some kinda underpaid shopkeeper I'm gonna fucking lose it. You're the last person I'd ever assume would be a fucking cashier! I still like the idea that you're the prince of Fucklandia.

[alchemicals]

Clearly, whoever brought us here couldn't resist the possibility of kidnapping the heir to what's probably some abysmally shitty desert nation.

So what about you? Take a guess about what you think you did outside of this place, I want to hear it.

[deaftly]

Hmm...

[Naki closes his eyes as he thinks. It looks like he's thinking really hard. Man, that probably hurts.]

...Well, I'm some kinda nonhuman thing and I can heal myself pretty easily, so I was probably doing something with fighting.

[He doubts any humans would just let him eat them, um.]

I dunno, maybe I was some kinda shitty mafia underling or something. Wouldn't that be a fucking riot?

Ah, come on. If they're putting you in here with royalty, you were at least the boss' son or something.

[deaftly]

Ooh, I like that! Son of a mafia boss! I was probably that really shitty brat no one wanted to be stuck with, but the boss wouldn't want me killed so he constantly had me stuck with some poor bodyguards. They probably hate the fuck out of me by now.

[Apparently he can't seem to decide if this is a story or a thing he actually wishes had happened. Either way, it's fun to think about.]

Yeah, well. Shitty brat or not, if they want you back at all after this they're going to have to fight me for it.

[deaftly]

Believe me, you're not gonna have to worry about that. They're apparently doing a really shitty job looking for me, so why would I wanna go back? I've got you now. I don't need anyone else.

[Could you try not being weird for like five seconds, Naki??]

Oh. Well, I mean it. I hope that's not too weird or anything!

Like I said, it's nice. I don't know, I'm probably just not used to that kind of thing.

[deaftly]

You'll have to get used to it pretty fast then, since you're stuck with me!

Maybe I am, but maybe I like it that way.

[deaftly]

Good, I'm glad! I wouldn't have it any other way!

[Wow, why did that punch him in the feelings so hard?? He's going to be trying to overcome this weird, almost shy feeling for a bit, hang on.]

Good to know, 'cause you're kind of mine now. And once we're out of here, we can do whatever we want, and no one's going to fuck with us again.

[deaftly]

Yeah! I definitely don't wanna go through anything like this again. I'll do whatever I can to avoid that!

I'm really, really glad I'll be with you though. Between the two of us I'm sure we won't have any problems!

Yeah. And I'm not going to leave you alone again, okay? Like I've been promising for a while now.

[Which will probably work out a little better once he stops feeling like hell, but that's...fixable, at least...]

[deaftly]

Yeah. Yeah, that's good.
