MURDERGAME - II;
- [Denzel's not entirely sure when he became aware of the giant dome covering the city but suddenly he's very aware of it and it's not exactly pretty. He was just out walking one of his neighbor's dogs and now he's just standing there staring up at the sky with a blank expression.]
What the hell...
[He finishes the walk as soon as he can (but not too soon; Daisy likes to take her time and he's not about to rush the poor old girl) and quickly makes his way back out into town. The dome looks like it covers the whole city, but he's a man on a mission. Denzel's going to head to the edge of town where the dome ends if he's not stopped on the way there.]
RECOLLÉ - II;
- [Well, it looks like the dome is here to stay. Denzel's not content with just sitting around though, so he's out wandering the city with his hands shoved into the pockets of his coat. It's as he's wandering (trying to figure out what to make of the dome and all the other strange goings on) that a bright light suddenly appears in front of him. Considering how dark it is in here, the light is appreciated, even when it goes bounding away. Denzel doesn't hesitate, instead he follows it.
The light leads him to the subway tunnels and Denzel makes his way in. They've been under construction for what feels like forever, but maybe there's a reason he was led here. He takes out a flashlight and shines it around the dark interior once the light fades, frowning a bit as he continues deeper in.
Then a vine snags his ankle and tugs him down. Denzel lets out a yell, reaching for his flashlight, but it's rolled just out of his reach.]
Gah, let go! Dammit...!
[Maybe you should help him out.]
MURDERGAME - I;
- [Waking up in an unfamiliar location is absolutely not Dezel's idea of a good time. He was supposed to be with the Shepard; he just became a Sub-Lord and he has plenty of questions he need to ask. Unfortunately for him, it looks like someone else had other ideas.
Dezel's waiting in the foyer, arms folded and head tipped down so his hat obscures most of his face. You might feel a gust of wind when you enter, but that's totally weird because the whole place is sealed up, there's no way there's an opening in here, right?]
Hey. You.
[Dezel pushes himself off the wall, though his arms are still folded.]
What do you make of those rules?
[He's already gotten someone to read them to him, but he's curious what the others trapped in here with him think about this situation.]
MURDERGAME - II;
- [A week has passed and two people are dead. One was brutally murdered, her head bashed in with a blunt object from the vending machine. The second was killed by the shadows in the pit, executed for the murder of the girl. It's enough to make anyone reconsider their life choices, but Dezel's still alive and surely that counts for something.
The note under his door is ignored because he can't read it, but eventually curiosity compels him to leave his room. He finds everyone in the dining room and the kitchen, either preparing food or eating what was already prepared. Dezel doesn't need to eat so he doesn't, but finding them all gathered here is interesting. This is some kind of messed up funeral, isn't it? Then again, everything in this damn building is messed up, so it's not all that surprising.
He doesn't particularly care for anyone's company here, but he'll take a seat a little further away and listen in on conversations. You might feel the wind pick up a bit.]

Every week has been filled with murder, with new, horrific consequences. Three's theory was right; they were going to keep targeting the things that people hold dear. Three has more than enjoyed watching everyone's differing reactions to the matter. It's more than her research on what made humans the most powerful could have ever hoped to bring, and it was hard not to revel in it.
It's out of a sense of boredom that brings Three out tonight. That sense of scientific curiosity--she wanted to kill some girl that had seen it fit to try and befriend her, to incite the rage of everyone else and use them all to fuel her experiments. She could ask for that, couldn't she? Three wasn't sure, but...
Well, when she comes across Dezel and the body of said girl, Three doesn't hesitate. He stole her kill? Then she was going to kill him.
Three tries to rush at him with a pair of scissors from the sewing room--no preamble here tonight, just an all too manic grin and attempting to go for his neck.
Let's see how good his reaction time is.]

He dodges the blow, though the scissors catch his jacket and he tosses out the first of his knives, aiming for her throat, hopefully guided by the wind. Three, huh...? Somehow he hadn't thought it would come to this, but now it feels like the most natural thing in the world. Of course they were going to fight. He should have realized that from the moment they first spoke.]

His reaction time has gotten better. He'd make a good soldier, if she could preserve him long enough.
She jumps back from the blade aimed toward her, seeming to crouch down and rush again--the blade manages to catch her hard across the cheek while she does so, the blood running down while she tries to gouge him again.]
It's bad to kill someone else's target, you know.
no subject
How the hell was I supposed to know you'd go after her!?
[Would he have been mad if Three had succeeded in killing her? Maybe. But it's not something he should think about right now (or ever, really) because she's already dead and he needs to stay alive. He throws the second knife along with a gust of wind, hoping to catch her hair in it again and stall her for just long enough for the knife to hit its mark. He's better with pendulums, but naturally the vending machine didn't give him those.]
1/2
[The gust of wind manages to distract Three again, hair managing to get in her mouth again, forcing her to spit it out and try to cut off the strands before she notices the second knife.
It catches her hard across the throat this time, right on it's mark.
Three...doesn't die very quickly, despite the rush of blood coming out. She gasps for air, coughing--it's probably clear by this point that she is definitely not human from how long she's holding on, and just before she blacks out...
Well, something happens.]
2/2
Well, she is not happy to say the least. She grabs the scissors from her previous copy and tries to attack again.]
You really are stupid. To think you can kill an Intoner like that.
no subject
Dezel's turned his back on her to look at the other girl's body when it starts happening. He can sense the change and he turns back around, using the wind to get an idea of what the actual hell is happening. He can scarcely believe that he's getting from the wind, but he doesn't have much of a choice but to believe it.]
What the...
[He stumbles backwards, tripping over the girl's outstretched legs and landing painfully on the ground. He scrambles for another knife (not that it'll do any good) but the shock of what he just witnessed is a bit much.]
no subject
Either way, she speaks up while she tries to do so.]
Eheheh...don't worry. When I'm done with alllll of you, you'll be perfect. Perfect little soldiers...all fueled by hate. It'll be wonderful...I wonder what I should name you all...?
[She's...kind of out of it more than usual, but she can't stop laughing. It's not a good laughter at all, but it does seem to reverberate a bit in a way that's a little unsettling.]
no subject
You're insane!
[good observation, dezel.]
no subject
Will you stop that already?
[Her regeneration can take care of this--she thinks, she hopes, because she doesn't want to try to resurrect herself again, it took a fair amount of energy as is--but she needs him to die and not get the upper hand again.]
You--won't be able to stop me. You may as well give up now.
no subject
He's not going to think about it. He once again tries to kick Three off as he slashes upwards with the knife. This time he's trying to hang onto it, just in case.]
Never— I'll never give up! I'm getting out of here!
no subject
[This isn't good at all. Dezel succeeds in his kick, though he catches Three in the face with the knife as she's knocked back and onto the ground. She's going to try and get that other knife out now, attempting to toss it to the side, but--]
Then I won't let you. Not in your current state...
[She needs time, time to get up and kill him again--it's taking long enough to get up from the floor as is, and he might be able to get the drop on her again. This is bad.]
no subject
Just die already!
no subject
[Three...tries to defend herself, but she's just a hair too slow, and he catches her across the neck once again. It hurts--she's in so much pain, and it's not exciting anymore. Now it just hurts and she can't die here. She won't let herself.
It's not pretty this time, and if her own body starting to shift again is any indication, she's trying to resurrect herself, and it's going a lot less smoothly this time. He'll probably have a little time to react while the flower starts to come out again, trying to bloom...]

...That's the thing, though; Three doesn't. That flower, though? It has one hell of a will to live. And bad things happen when neither of these people can agree.
Dezel might have a few minutes to get his bearings, but that flower is eventually going to force them to resurrect; it's not a nice process this time, and it seems far more like the flower's forcing Three out rather than having her climb out. She's staggering by the time she gets up and out, but this time, there's no commentary.
This time, Three's just going to try and wrestle the sword out of his hand and drive it through him. If the scissors weren't enough, maybe that will be.]
no subject
He's turning to leave when he realizes that something's wrong. Three's faster this time - much faster than he was expecting - and she gets the sword away from him. Dezel curses and grabs the knife from his belt again, but what the hell is he going to do with that? He tries to block the sword, but...
Well, it isn't enough.
Three drives the sword through him and Dezel gasps, trying to stagger backwards and not managing it. His hands go to the blade like maybe he can pull the damn thing out, but it's embedded too deeply in him. His eyes are wide and for a fraction of a second they're visible beneath his bangs - they're dull and gray, unseeing already.
It doesn't take long. Life slips from his body all too easily and if Three hasn't moved any, he'll end up slumped against her.
So much for his revenge.]
