Um, sure! Give me a bit to read through the menu...
[...Not that it takes her too long to scan and find something, if the way her eyes light up is any indication. Good thing the waiter is pretty quick to come around--]
One slice of strawberry cheesecake and a glass of water, please.
[May as well have one slice of heavenly goodness before talking about possibly unpleasant subjects!]
no subject
Yeah, I'll have a water and a burger. Thanks.
[The waiter departs and Mondo leans on the table, folding his hands.]
I guess you've already figured out why I called you here, huh?
[He laughs again, though the sound is awkward.]
I've been trying to come up with a way to mention Prayer's Pass but... shit. I couldn't come up with anything. So uh, thanks for mentioning it, I guess?
no subject
[She says that quietly, folding her hands on her lap and looking down. The awkward about this is...
Well, it's pretty damn obvious, if nothing else. Sayaka attempts to laugh, softly.]
It's not a problem...I honestly wanted to see if anyone did know, after finding out that...
[She trails off there. Naegi-kun and the other you didn't know about it is what she wanted to say, but she doesn't doubt that he hasn't experienced the same thing.]
...That we aren't where we're supposed to be.
[Last minute replacement, there. Even if 'where we're supposed to be' is a little more than dubious--where were they supposed to be? Dead? Back at the school?]
no subject
[He runs a hand through the back of his hair, wincing.]
I guess I should've asked though. I mean, I haven't seen every single person here or anything.
[This is awkward. He might as well just get on with it.]
I've been here for about a month. Apparently time doesn't pass back home, or... there. What... was the last thing you remember from the pass?
no subject
...You aren't alone anymore, Oowada-kun.
[Once that's said, she doesn't really need to think about the question.]
We were about to leave with Robin-san. For Ylisse. That place was going to be behind us, and...well, I doubt this is the place she was talking about.
[The fact that time doesn't pass outside of this place is a little reassuring--and that he's been here for a month. She relaxes, slightly, though her tone shifts to a serious one at her question.]
Has anything strange happened, Oowada-kun? Anything like what happened there?
no subject
Yeah. Yeah, that's what happened to me too. Sometimes people show up here without memories. I was worried that would happen to you.
[...]
I-I mean I wasn't exactly expecting you to show up here to begin with b-but I'm really glad you're here!!
[Well that shout will get a few stares. Whoops. He calms down at that question though.]
...No. Nothing like that. It's been good here. Everyone's been really nice so far. I'm just... glad to see you again, Maizono.
no subject
His little shout does get her to calm a bit, taking...a somewhat silly smile. You are so unsubtle, but that was really damn sweet.]
I understand, I understand.
[...That answer gets a couple seconds of pausing, but she relaxes a lot more. She'll still be suspicious of this place--there's absolutely no doubt about that. But if it's safe for the time being...
She smiles, brightly.]
...I'm glad to see you too. I'm glad that we're in a peaceful place, at least. [Her look goes toward the window at that.] It's...really been too long since we've been able to feel safe, hasn't it?
no subject
[Mondo smiles, leaning forward on the table.]
So when did you get to the city? What Pokémon did you start with? How long have you been here?
no subject
[She shakes her head a bit, sadly. Hopefully this doesn't make anything awkward, but it's Mondo. She figures telling him the truth now would be the most beneficial thing.]
And I haven't really checked what I've been given--I found a couple of Poke Balls in my bag, but I was more focused on trying to get out.
no subject
[Maybe he shouldn't be surprised. She was willing to kill to get out of the school after all.]
It's okay. I'm in the organization too. So I'll help you out, okay?
no subject
...Though she does look back over to him after a few seconds, smiling just a bit.]
...Thank you, Oowada-kun. You're really nice, for helping me.
[Her look goes down to the table after she says that, frowning.]
...I have to get out, though. I don't want any part of their organization...
[Just. Gonna stiffen a bit more and refuse to meet his gaze. It's probably easier said than done...which is making her a little frustrated.]

They're...what?
[...You know, when that actually sort of settles in her head...she honestly smiles. Crisis can force even the most different of people to work together, it seems. ...She has no idea.]
...I...don't want to leave them on their own for this. If they're working toward bringing it down, it sounds like they'll need any help they can get.
[Ditching does sound like the more favorable option, and would probably be the option of choice if she really wanted. ...But after Prayer's Pass...well, it just feels wrong to leave any of their classmates in the dust.]
I may ask about it in the future, though. Is...that alright?
[She just wants to make sure, in case this place turns out to be too disgusting for her to swallow complaints and deal with it.]
no subject
Yeah. That's perfectly fine. If you wanna quit, we'll quit. But if you think it's a good idea to stay and help, then we'll work toward taking 'em down.
[He smiles.]
We can do it if we all work together. I'm sure of that.
no subject
[She's definitely got determination in that. It's not a certainty, but she's seen what can happen if they put their minds to it.
The food finally arrives after a few more seconds, and Sayaka sees it fit to enjoy this little snack. First time in a while that anything halfway decent has found it's way in...
She'll look over once she's finished her first bite, smiling.]
How have you been spending your time here? Have you found anything interesting to do?
no subject
He takes a bite from the burger, leaning back in his chair, almost to the point of tipping over.]
I've been training my Pokémon mostly. Spending some time working to get some cash and I've been working out at the gym so... not much different back home, to be honest.
no subject
Well, it's good to have some familiarity in your life--it helps in adjusting to new places.
[She smiles.]
It sounds like you've been making the most of your time here, at least!
