LOCKED TO [personal profile] preybeforemeals

[Well, Olivine City isn't as bad as the routes Naki has been on for some godawful amount of time. That's really the only positive thing he can say about the city at first because he's far too busy complaining about how sore he is. One would think he spent the entire time on foot to get to the city but no, he's complaining in the direction of a rather confused-looking Steelix.]

Maybe if I had a faster Pokémon I wouldn't be in so much pain!

[At least the Steelix doesn't respond or roll her eyes, though it's very obvious that she's considering it. Naki recovers quickly enough though, returning the Steelix and wandering into town. The sun is just starting to set and it actually looks very beautiful against the waves and for a moment Naki admires the view.

...Then as usual, he gets bored and turns away.]

He should be here somewhere... Unless he lied to me--!

[That finally seems to sink in and Naki looks downright horrified for a moment.]

No way, he wouldn't do something so shitty, right? There's no way. Definitely not.

[Still, he reaches into his pocket for his 'Gear and immediately finds the number he's looking for. Guess what, Tsukiyama? You're getting yet another message! If you don't pick it up, he's just going to leave another voicemail, as usual.]

Why do you keep saying that -

[Come on, Tsukiyama. Breathe. Don't turn the device off, don't chuck it off the pier. Don't even get visibly irritated. Be cool.]

Did you need something, or...?
preybeforemeals: (DISMISS โ™ž oh - that was your girl?)

[personal profile] preybeforemeals 2014-09-18 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, that gets an amused look out of him.]

Believe me, monsieur, never once did the idea even cross my mind.

[...it also gets blatant lies out of him.]

[Well, it's good to see you're still the pinnacle of beauty, charm, and grace...]

Those docks near the ocean - just keep moving southward and you should be fine.

[It probably says something when Tsukiyama isn't even offended at effectively being hung up on; exactly what it says is anyone's guess, granted, but it certainly says something, and as it stands he's perfectly content to just sort of shrug a little and pocket the device again.

That said, he's a bit difficult to miss; purple hair aside, he's wearing the usual bright colors and patterns that tend to draw more than a bit of attention. If people are going to stare, he's going to make it worth their while, after all; either way right now he's leaning up against one of the railings on the pier, forearms braced over the top rung and hands linked together idly in front of him. He doesn't appear to be paying too much attention, but that doesn't mean he isn't; he is waiting for someone, after all.

He's not entirely sure when this entire experience just became Something They Do, but the fact is that it has, and he's not unfamiliar with just standing around until Naki figures out what he's doing with himself, and perhaps he has more patience for it than he normally might have. But then he supposes that's what being the only two...representatives, as it were, of one's world does to you.

At least, he sincerely hopes that's all it is, because otherwise that has potential to get terribly confusing and he'd rather not deal with that, thank you.]

[personal profile] preybeforemeals 2014-09-18 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, of course not; as far as Tsukiyama is concerned Naki is an idiot who trusts too easily, nothing more. Besides, he's never really been one for friends - at least, not the sort that aren't easily thrown away on a whim. Disposable relationships tend to be the most agreeable to him, and he doesn't really foresee that changing anytime soon; he'd gladly throw Naki to the doves if they showed up here and it benefited him to do so.

That said, though, he doesn't seem too bothered by the awkwardness of the statement, even if it does vaguely cross his mind that maybe if Naki tries again they'll hear him in Cianwood this time.]

As though I'd do such a thing? You wound me.

[...you...wh...

...MOVING ON because no one is going to like where that argument is going to go even if he does get that clarified

no really at least three people will walk away offended and there are only two in this conversation, that's how badly it's going to go]

I think it's very charming, yes! I wouldn't still be here if I didn't like it at all, you know, I would have left by now.
preybeforemeals: (EVEN โ™ž as your best friend i insist)

[personal profile] preybeforemeals 2014-09-18 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
[...oh no.]

You really have no idea what this city is known for?

[Oh no.]
preybeforemeals: (DISMISS โ™ž oh - that was your girl?)

[personal profile] preybeforemeals 2014-09-18 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
Ah - !

[And with that Tsukiyama pushes away from the railing, the motion abrupt and sharp, and he's burying one face in his hand and the other is running lightly along the collar of his shirt, toward the back of his neck because ahahaha oh boy here we fucking go.]

Well! This absolutely can't stand, I won't hear of it! That you've come all this way with no idea why - it's a tragedy, monsieur, an absolute tragedy!

[Fortunately, Tsukiyama does seem inclined to stop himself before he manages to sprain something; unfortunately, it's in the name of grabbing Naki's lapel for the briefest of moments, just long enough to jerk him in the general direction he wants him to pay attention to before retracting his touch.]

You're going to come with me.

You'll see~

[...how very helpful of you, Tsukiyama. Come on, you, we're moving.]

Had you really only just arrived when you called me?
preybeforemeals: (HM? โ™ž who invited the rube)

[personal profile] preybeforemeals 2014-09-18 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
[...how, ah...very...awkward of you...]

...Very convinced I'm going to try to get rid of you, aren't you?

[Did he touch a nerve there, sweetheart?]

Are you or are you not the one who keeps bringing it up? What is that, four or five times today?

[does he look like goddamn kamishiro-san to you]

Patience is a virtue, monsieur, just relax a bit~

[Fortunately, those upscale restaurants Olivine is known for aren't far from where they started; all the better to have a seaside view, really, it just adds to the atmosphere of the whole thing.

Not like he thinks Naki really understands subtle things like that, but hey.]

This place is known for fine dining - absolutely to die for.
preybeforemeals: (EVEN โ™ž as your best friend i insist)

[...is there a high concentration of French people somewhere in America that he doesn't know about. Is that the problem here.

(I mean there's Quebec but not even the Canadians want to talk about Quebec...)]

Ah, I see that your priorities are as good as ever! But they're excellent, yes, don't worry about that.
preybeforemeals: (OH โ™ž is everyone mad about cannibalism)

[personal profile] preybeforemeals 2014-09-18 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Sir -

[Thankfully he's able to follow closely behind; here's hoping he can prevent this from becoming too large of a disaster - in other words, please don't try dealing with the maรฎtre d' and let him take care of it because swear to god Naki if you get him kicked out of this restaurant he's going to end you.]
preybeforemeals: (STUDY โ™ž it's not stalking; it's flattery)

[Thankfully, "Naki getting distracted" is something that happens approximately as easily as "Naki breathing"; Tsukiyama will surely have to thank any deity listening for that small mercy later.

Still. There's a chance they won't get thrown out and as such, no one has to die today! Excellent. And whomever's seating them seems to have the right idea, given that they spend a moment obviously trying to place the basket case and the fashion disaster somewhere that they won't offend the general population just by existing - but there's a window and the view is nice, and hopefully everyone has the decorum to not throw anyone out of said window (and at...least the landing will be fairly soft if they do, if a bit sandy), and hopefully Naki won't get too fidgety because that is almost always a concern when dealing with Naki.]

I'm assuming you're going to want sugar after the end of your...journey today.

[That awkwardness is indeed more than a bit difficult to miss, and it'd be ridiculously easy to point out; normally he might have. But since they've spent the duration of their time here at least trying to be civil, if not halfway decent, to one another, he's...well, he's still sorely tempted but at least his ability to refrain is still in working condition for the time being.]

If I didn't know any better, monsieur, I'd think you were calling me a liar.

[...you sweet summer child.]

Has that been a common problem...? Last I've seen, everything's been in...

[...uh...]

...whatever language we've all been speaking in.

[...................]

...That's never going to not be disconcerting, but it's functional enough.
