LOCKED TO
viliorate
[It's been a little over ten years since the two of them arrived here. Ten years is an awfully long time to be stuck here, but returning home isn't an option anymore. It hasn't been an option since they first started changing, and that wasn't all that long after they arrived. Kimbley had grown a tail and ears and Archer's eyes had turned red. It's amazing to think they had been so scared by those changes back then.
Things are different now. They aren't human, but there's no reason for that to bother them. Archer is a vampire (something that he found painfully ironic in the beginning, but he's adapted quite well to it, if he does say so himself). Not much has changed about him, appearance-wise. His nails are much longer and sharper, his eyes are red, and he has the stereotypical vampire fangs, but aside from that the only difference is the slight point to his ears. It's not like he could get any paler anyway.
Archer enters their shared apartment after work, shrugging off his coat and hanging it up before proceeding into the living room.]
Kimbley, are you home yet?

Kimbley, are you home yet?

[You should always worry about him. If it weren't for Archer he'd be dead in a ditch somewhere.]
no subject
[...Let's ignore that, it's a terrifying thought.]
no subject
[He still doesn't think it's needed but that won't stop Archer.]
no subject
At least one of us is concerned about your safety.
[He's smirking though, so obviously he's teasing.]
no subject
Maybe you have a point. You wouldn't let me leave without you.
no subject
[He'd never forgive himself for starters.]
no subject
Nothing's going to happen to me.
no subject
[It's not like he's always going to be in a position to help, but it's much easier to pretend than it is to acknowledge that someday Kimbley might be seriously hurt or even die.]
no subject
I do a decent job taking care of myself.
[Not really. It's a miracle he hasn't lost an ear or a tail or had one of the spikes break off of his body.]
Come with me tonight.
no subject
[Please don't lose any body parts, that would be unfortunate.]
no subject
[Which he... shouldn't be so excited about.
He's definitely not getting through this night without being attacked.]
no subject
Good. We'll leave in a little bit then.
no subject
Once it's dark enough most humans aren't outside. That'll be a good time.
no subject
no subject
[This probably happens all the time with them but it's still a terrible idea each and every time they do it.
Especially because alternatives do exist.]
no subject
It hasn't been a problem so far.
no subject
And it won't ever be.
no subject
Good.
[Well, it looks dark enough out there now.]
Shall we go?
no subject
Lead the way.
no subject
no subject
Unfortunately, his senses are really only attuned to hearing and sight. Tracking down a victim through smell isn't something he's capable of, but his ears are twitching as he listens carefully for any movement that isn't the two of them.
This should be easy. They're not going to have a problem.]

Kimbley nods, taking the initiative to move first. It's slow and practiced, and though he has claws at his disposal, he also has his knife.
This should be easy.]
no subject
Wh-What do you want from me!?
[He fumbles at his hip for a moment before brandishing a knife. It's an elegant blade with ornate carvings on it, but it doesn't look suited for battle.]
Stay back!
[Archer just smirks; he knows Kimbley can handle this.]
no subject
That blade doesn't look too dangerous. It looks like a decoration. It's nothing he's concerned about at all. He's strong enough he'll be able to wrestle it from the kid's grip if it comes to it in any case.]
Nothing personal, but you've picked a bad day to be wandering out alone.
[And he attacks.]
