LOCKED TO alchemicals

[He doesn't remember anything. All he knows is that there's a bright light in his face and he just wants to sleep. After a couple of minutes of tossing and turning he finally opens his eyes and sits up. The room he's in is perfectly white, without any sort of interesting features. There's a desk and a chair, but nothing on either of them. They're as white as the walls and floor, and on closer inspection, the bed he's in is just as white and spotless as the rest of the room. The sheets are a bit on the stiff side even though he's been sleeping under them, and the bed is kind of hard for his liking, so he finally squirms out from under the covers and stands.

The clothes he's wearing strike him as being wrong, though he can't recall what the "right" clothes would be. They're white - like everything else - and they're very simple. He doesn't have anything to compare them to, but the material is soft and kind of thin and feels a little odd. He shrugs off his confusion about the clothes and starts for the door. Even the doorknob is white, which strikes him as strange for about half a second before he yanks the door open.

The room that he enters is spacious. Like the room he woke up in, everything is white. There's a sofa, a small table in front of the sofa, and a couple of plush chairs. There's a couple of doors leading elsewhere, and his first order of business is to see where they lead. One leads to a perfectly white kitchen which isn't interesting right now (though some part of him wonders if the food will be just as white) and the other door he comes to is locked. There should be a front door around here somewhere though, right? He doesn't want to be here. He can't remember why he's here (or anything, really) but being here doesn't seem right.]

You want to go draw some more, or do you want to just stay here for a while?

Mm... I'll probably go draw some more in a bit, but this... I like this.

[He doesn't want to leave right now. This is comfortable and warm and it'd probably be weird to do this later.]

[...Honestly, he seems more confused than annoyed.]

Because you're being so good to me and your response to this was to hug me, not push me away and that's really cute! I mean, it worked so I guess you did the right thing, but it's just... really sweet, you know?

[...And that's another thing that does feel familiar, though he sure as hell can't say why - really, he...probably should have shoved Naki away, shouldn't he? Moving toward someone who could possibly be a threat to him isn't really a normal response, is it...

He'll worry about it later, right now this is...awkward, shut up.]

Yeah, well. I just don't like you being all upset like that.

See, cute! I don't think most people would care that much!

[It's not self-deprecating or anything, he just doesn't feel like anyone else would do that for him.

He hasn't missed how odd Kimbley's gotten though, and after a moment he calms down a bit.]

...Something on your mind?

[...Ah. That manages to get his attention, anyway.]

...No, not really. Just one of those things that feels sort of familiar for no reason, I guess - you'd think I'd be used to this shit by now, right?

[deaftly]

Well it's something we're gonna be dealing with until we get all our memories back, so I dunno if it's something you can get used to!

[...Okay, that gets a bit of a laugh out of him, hang on.]

...Sort of. Don't worry about it, though.

I just got the feeling earlier that maybe I've done something like this with someone before. Not this exact thing, but...I don't know. Something else made me think that too, earlier - that there's someone I should be remembering.

I don't know if they're good or bad or what. Just...someone, maybe.

[deaftly]

Someone important to you, huh? That's good! Hopefully you can remember more about them!

[It's nice to hear that Kimbley's sort of remembering something!]

Hopefully they're important in a good way.

[Because there's always the possibility they're not.]

You ever wonder if someone's looking for us?

[deaftly]

I'd think they would be, if you're doing something like this with them, right?

[He's not really sure though, so he falls silent. Kimbley's question is kind of distressing, if only because it's something Naki's been wondering since he woke up here.]

...I don't really know. In my case, I mean. I don't... know if there's anyone that would even miss me, much less try to look for me. I don't really know.

[alchemicals]

[He's quiet for a moment at that.]

Why don't you think anyone would miss you?

[deaftly]

...I just don't think anyone cares. I don't mean that to sound depressing or anything but I just... can't remember anything and nothing feels familiar so I don't think there's anyone that really cares? I dunno.

[He sighs, shaking his head.]

But I mean, even if no one's looking for me, someone's probably looking for you!

[alchemicals]

...I don't think so, actually - I mean, I had to get that idea that it doesn't matter if I die or not from somewhere, right?

[...Let him play with your hair some more, okay.]

Like I said, though, we can look out for each other now. And even if no one's looking for us...well, that just means there's not gong to be anyone stopping us from doing whatever we want. Nothing to go back to, but nothing keeping us from moving forward. It's not so bad.
