LOCKED TO
viliorate
[It's been a little over ten years since the two of them arrived here. Ten years is an awfully long time to be stuck here, but returning home isn't an option anymore. It hasn't been an option since they first started changing, and that wasn't all that long after they arrived. Kimbley had grown a tail and ears and Archer's eyes had turned red. It's amazing to think they had been so scared by those changes back then.
Things are different now. They aren't human, but there's no reason for that to bother them. Archer is a vampire (something that he found painfully ironic in the beginning, but he's adapted quite well to it, if he does say so himself). Not much has changed about him, appearance-wise. His nails are much longer and sharper, his eyes are red, and he has the stereotypical vampire fangs, but aside from that the only difference is the slight point to his ears. It's not like he could get any paler anyway.
Archer enters their shared apartment after work, shrugging off his coat and hanging it up before proceeding into the living room.]
Kimbley, are you home yet?

Kimbley, are you home yet?

[It'll be worth it of course, but nice nights like tonight are things he'll miss.]
no subject
We'll take our time. Doing it all at once doesn't sound like it would be that fun.
[....he probably shouldn't consider taking over a city "fun." Oh well.]
no subject
no subject
Of course. I'm not going to stop you.
no subject
no subject
[Let's be honest here, if that happens Archer will probably have to drag Kimbley away from it.]
no subject
[It's an amusing idea though.]
no subject
[He's aware that they won't be that lucky. This is going to be incredibly difficult, if it's even possible. Oh, he wants it to be possible and will probably never admit defeat until it's staring him in the face, but he'll deal with that when it happens.]
no subject
Yes, well, being too optimistic won't get us anywhere.
[He looks very pleased though!]
no subject
As long as we take this slow and don't get over our heads immediately, we'll be fine.
[He's definitely relaxed some since he's started drinking. He's Kimbley, so it's not like the alcohol has made him lose that bit of paranoia that's making him watch the people who come and go, but Kimbley has definitely relaxed a little. It's obvious in the way he holds himself; his shoulders have stopped being so tense.]
no subject
[There's no guarantee that they won't, but Archer's confident that he knows what he's doing. Whether he does or not is another matter entirely.
He's noticed Kimbley relaxing and smirks a bit as he decides to point that out.]
...It's nice to see you relax again.
no subject
You shouldn't get used to it. We're not going to be doing this much.
[But he's grinning just the same.]
no subject
[Maybe someday Kimbley will always be able to relax like this. That would be nice.]
no subject
Which means he's likely to say something stupid eventually.]
Hey Archer.
no subject
What is it?
no subject
[Kimbley....]
no subject
I thought you didn't want anyone touching it.
no subject
[Which is probably more forward than he realizes, but apparently we've reached the saying things we'll regret in the morning time of the night.
He leans forward a bit, but it's a conversational movement.]
Not in public; I have an image to hold up. But I'd let you do it.
no subject
[He has no idea why this is flustering him, but it is.]
no subject
[...honestly he'll probably get his chance just because he's going to need to carry Kimbley home.]
Don't worry; the spikes only look like they're sharp.
no subject
[This is kind of embarrassing for some reason he can't figure out...]
no subject
I think I'll have another drink. How about you?
no subject
no subject
[But two drunk monsters would probably be an easy target for someone. Either another monster or someone who has taken to hunting monsters.
But that's not stopping Kimbley from getting up and ordering another drink at the bar. At least he can walk a straight line. When he returns, he has another glass of gin in his hand.]
I'm going to end up as your bodyguard again. How funny is that?
no subject
[He smirks, clearly quite pleased with Kimbley's words.]
