[It's been a little over ten years since the two of them arrived here. Ten years is an awfully long time to be stuck here, but returning home isn't an option anymore. It hasn't been an option since they first started changing, and that wasn't all that long after they arrived. Kimbley had grown a tail and ears and Archer's eyes had turned red. It's amazing to think they had been so scared by those changes back then.

Things are different now. They aren't human, but there's no reason for that to bother them. Archer is a vampire (something that he found painfully ironic in the beginning, but he's adapted quite well to it, if he does say so himself). Not much has changed about him, appearance-wise. His nails are much longer and sharper, his eyes are red, and he has the stereotypical vampire fangs, but aside from that the only difference is the slight point to his ears. It's not like he could get any paler anyway.

Archer enters their shared apartment after work, shrugging off his coat and hanging it up before proceeding into the living room.]

Kimbley, are you home yet?

Absolutely not. Starting with scare tactics is the last thing I need. Of course, you could do it for my opponents... Ah, but I suppose that might get you in trouble. No, it's better to play the part of the upstanding citizen, as much as I'm sure that idea pains you.

[But he'll comply. Hopefully.]

You'll get to have plenty of fun once things are going our way, I promise.

[He shrugs, leaning into the booth, drinking deeply.]

Don't know what I'd do without you.

You're so good to me.

I do what I can for you.

[He takes a sip of the wine, nodding slightly. You picked the right thing, Kimbley!]

[It's been years, but at least he remembers what Archer likes!

...it's probably fortunate it still tastes good, huh?]

I'm eager to return the favor.

[He's definitely done it before, but now the two of them have a set goal.]

You don't need to concern yourself with that; you've always been good to me.

[Still, he does appreciate it!]

We're a hell of a team.

[He says, even though they've never done anything besides terrorize people.

Kimbley raises his glass, smirking faintly.]

Of course we are.

[He raises his glass as well, tipping it in Kimbley's direction with a slight nod.]

That will never change.

It won't.

[It should say something that even after all of this time, he really doesn't know how this place works. Kimbley's fairly certain he's faintly buzzed. At least the pleasant sensation is there.]

You're stuck with me.

Don't be ridiculous. I'm not "stuck" with you. I want to stay with you.

[He's taking the drink much slower; it's better to have at least one of them sober!]

[...hopefully this isn't enough to get Kimbley drunk.]

Good. I'd hate to end up in an argument with you.

[This is what he gets for not drinking regularly for a decade. It figures he'd still be able to get drunk like this. At least he knows better than to drink everything at once.]

You know that, Kimbley. Don't worry about it.

[...Is he going to have to carry you home...?]

I try not to worry about things.

[....you're definitely going to have to carry him home.]

[Archer rolls his eyes.]

Yes, I'm well aware of that. You could stand to be a bit more wary in the future, but I know that's not going to change.

[...Of course he is.]

[viliorate]

If things change, I'll be more careful.

[He sounds serious about it if nothing else, but Kimbley's looking down at his drink as he speaks.]

We're not going to have any problems.

[Someone's going to end up shot before too long, aren't they?]

I certainly hope we won't. Keep an eye out and hopefully everything will be fine.

[There was a time where Kimbley would be combative, but as it is, he nods before looking up at Archer.]

I'm not saying let's let our guards down or anything, but we should relax tonight. We might not have another chance like this again.

[They're going to be too busy even in the best case scenario. He sets the glass down. It's still half full, but he's trying to take it slow so Archer doesn't have to carry him out of the bar.]

I agree. I doubt we'll get to have a night out like this once things start going our way.

[It'll be worth it of course, but nice nights like tonight are things he'll miss.]

[He watches Archer for a moment before he smirks.]

We'll take our time. Doing it all at once doesn't sound like it would be that fun.

[....he probably shouldn't consider taking over a city "fun." Oh well.]

Once things get started there's no way we can stop. I can't put my political career on hold whenever I want.

[You're no fun at all.]

Of course. I'm not going to stop you.

Good. It'll be unfortunate that we can't do this sort of thing as often, but it will be worth it. I promise.

[viliorate]

Maybe by then, we'll have a private bar.

[Let's be honest here, if that happens Archer will probably have to drag Kimbley away from it.]

I doubt things will go quite that well, Kimbley.
