LOCKED TO alchemicals

[He doesn't remember anything. All he knows is that there's a bright light in his face and he just wants to sleep. After a couple of minutes of tossing and turning he finally opens his eyes and sits up. The room he's in is perfectly white, without any sort of interesting features. There's a desk and a chair, but nothing on either of them. They're as white as the walls and floor, and on closer inspection, the bed he's in is just as white and spotless as the rest of the room. The sheets are a bit on the stiff side even though he's been sleeping under them, and the bed is kind of hard for his liking, so he finally squirms out from under the covers and stands.

The clothes he's wearing strike him as being wrong, though he can't recall what the "right" clothes would be. They're white - like everything else - and they're very simple. He doesn't have anything to compare them to, but the material is soft and kind of thin and feels a little odd. He shrugs off his confusion about the clothes and starts for the door. Even the doorknob is white, which strikes him as strange for about half a second before he yanks the door open.

The room that he enters is spacious. Like the room he woke up in, everything is white. There's a sofa, a small table in front of the sofa, and a couple of plush chairs. There's a couple of doors leading elsewhere, and his first order of business is to see where they lead. One leads to a perfectly white kitchen which isn't interesting right now (though some part of him wonders if the food will be just as white) and the other door he comes to is locked. There should be a front door around here somewhere though, right? He doesn't want to be here. He can't remember why he's here (or anything, really) but being here doesn't seem right.]

[...Yeah, he's not doing so hot right now but he's able to notice that, come on.]

...No, what is it?

[deaftly]

[Naki looks away for a moment, but he eventually starts talking.]

...What if we've done this before? We have no way of knowing, right? What if we've managed to break out of here before and they just fucking wiped our memories and threw us back in here? There's no telling how many times it could have happened. We could've been here for fucking years doing the same goddamn thing over and over again and... and there's no way we'd know.

[Oh.

He's quiet for a moment at that, keeping his gaze low and bunching the covers on the bed up in his fists before he makes himself relax; that's...really not doing good things to his head and he can feel his heart rate picking up a lot faster than it normally would, and he can feel himself twitch a little while he tries to get himself under control.

But when he looks up he's smiling again, and he's trying to keep his voice as calm as he can, because wow that thought is unbelievably fucked up, isn't it.]

That just means we're going to have to succeed this time, right? Either that or kick their asses so hard they decide we're not worth the trouble of catching us and putting us back.

This could be the first time we've done it, it could be the hundredth time - who cares? What else are we supposed to do, give up?

[deaftly]

[For a moment, Naki looks like he's going to cry again, and then suddenly he's very animated and incredibly determined.]

Fuck no! We're not gonna let that happen! It doesn't fucking matter how many times we've done this before we're gonna fuck 'em up!! We're not gonna give up and play whatever fucking game they've got going-- we're gonna beat their fucking asses and get the fuck outta here!!

[Ahahaha, holy shit.]

See, there you go. We can't just sit around and worry about how it can go wrong, we've got to just keep thinking like that. Maybe what we do won't matter, but if it doesn't then we can try again.

This is going to work out, promise.

[deaftly]

Yeah!! Of course it will, I'm not gonna take this shit lying down!!

[Naki seems to run out of steam after a moment though and when he speaks again, he's dropped back to his usual volume.]

...You'd better not forget that promise.

[alchemicals]

Why the hell would I?

[deaftly]

I dunno, you'd just... better not forget it or I'll be pissed!!

["Forget" probably isn't the best word to use there since they're talking about someone erasing their memories, but it's too late now!]

[alchemicals]

[Well, he doesn't seem bothered, if it's any consolation...]

Yeah, and if they punch us in the brain again and I do forget, I'll just promise all over again.

[deaftly]

[WOW NO DON'T DO THAT uh oh here come the tears again.]

Y-Yeah!! I... th-thanks that's...

[Well, whatever it is will have to wait until he's done crying into his sleeves.]

[alchemicals]

[...SHIT NO WHAT'D HE DO]

H-Hey, come on...!

[deaftly]

[YOU WERE NICE!!!!

...that probably says a lot about all the things he can't remember, um.

That said, he's not really able to talk right now, so give him a few minutes.]

[alchemicals]

[...Siiiiiigh.]

...Will you at least come sit?

[He'll pet you some more or something if you do.]

[deaftly]

[Naki finally manages to nod and sits down on the bed, still struggling to catch his breath and stop crying.]

[alchemicals]

[Back to playing with your hair it is, he supposes.]

Look I...I wasn't trying to make you cry, okay?

[deaftly]

I-I know.

[Naki leans into that immediately, though the crying seems to have mostly stopped by now.]

It's just... I dunno. What you said was... really nice? I guess I don't... get that a lot. Or didn't. Whatever.

[alchemicals]

Yeah, well, you're going to have to get used to it, because I mean it.

Everything's going to work out. And I don't know what happened before, but we're not going to be alone anymore.

[deaftly]

Yeah. I've got you now.

[He's not sure who he had before or if he had anyone, but this is nice. It's not exactly familiar, but it's very nice.]

Thanks. I'm really glad to hear that.

[alchemicals]

Don't mention it. I mean, we're friends, right?

[He'll pull away from where he's been messing with Naki's hair, raking his fingers back through the front of his own.]

Ah, I've still got to teach you how to play cards...lying down is sounding really good right now, though, so we can do that in a bit.

[deaftly]

Yeah, of course we are!

[That gets Naki to grin, though the expression is kind of terrifying. He seems perfectly fine now.]

Ah, alright. I can take watch for awhile.

[It's strange that Kimbley wants to sleep when he only got up a little while ago, but Naki's not going to question it. Instead he gets up and wanders over to the door; he'll go mess around on the walls for awhile.]

[alchemicals]

[Hopefully you won't need him for the next several hours, um.]

[deaftly]

[He shouldn't! But he'll get a little concerned after two, so he's just going to wander into the bedroom and uh... make sure you're still breathing. Just in case.]

[alchemicals]

[He's still breathing!

...okay it's really shallow and he's pretty fucking unconscious but breathing is definitely a thing he's doing]

[deaftly]

[That... really doesn't look good, um. Shit.

Okay, okay, no need to panic. Kimbley's just not awake and it looks like he might die but there's no need to panic!!

...There's no way to get in contact with the people keeping them here, or at least, no way Naki knows of. He doubts they'd just let Kimbley die, but this is kind of terrifying. So if he can't get in contact with them then he has to handle it himself. He doesn't know shit about this sort of thing, he's painfully aware of that. So what does he do?

Well obviously he's just going to go shake Kimbley to try to wake him up!! He's really not good at this.]

Fortunately, he isn't...too far under and he'll come around eventually, if for no better reason than he's seriously being jostled and he's not sure what's going on and wow, he doesn't seem very focused right now, but he'll...manage, somehow.]
